I was fortunate enough today to visit a dealer that has all three of the above, and not just a couple of models of each; but, a whole display case of Wilson, and a half case each of the other two. I have had a Baer for about 5 years and love it: the best trigger of any 1911 I've ever tried, and the most accurate by far. However, I must say that in handling/fondling the Wilson & Browns I was most impressed with the feel, fit & finish of the Wilsons. The Browns also (particularly the snakeskin), but just not quite as much. For one thing the Browns' finish (whatever it is- looks like black teflon) had some areas on the slides that looked almost like they were chipping in places! The Wilsons' finish looked better to me. Of course, I liked the look of a Baer TRS that they had. I would have been hard pressed to make a choice today. Luckily my wife was with me, so no choice was possible! :banghead:

Called Falling

In love with how a gun feels. If you like pretty looking and happy feeling guns then you have found your calling in life.

I have to admit I had it bad for a two tone, bull barrel, bobtailed, Class A Limted Commander. Just about to the point where I couldn't sleep at night. Luckly for me, Ed quit making them. What I do own is a Wilson Tactical Elite. I enjoyed it so much I went out and bought its smaller brother the SDS. I don't have any issues with either of them, or Wilson.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with the Baers, but from what I've seen, I would prefer the Wilson to them, and the Brown over both. I think the most recent Wilsons (I just handled a brand new Professional) are really well fit up. They have started flushing the slide/frame/beavertail junction, which they didn't do in the past. The gun now looks like my SA Professional at the rear of the slide, and the slide to frame fit was very good as well, although the gun was brand new, so that can be deceptive. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, in reality. If I could find a good deal on a used Baer SRP, I'd be right there!

I have a Brown Kobra Carry and a Wilson FS CQB that I can comment on. No Baer, so no comment.

I like shooting the CQB and it shoots better than the Kobra Carry (marginally) but I think the internal workmanship of the Brown is a tad better than the Wilson. I will most likely carry the KC due to its size rather than the FS CQB.

Externally they are two different types of finishes. Armor-Tuff vs. blued. I like both for what they are.

I really think I need another FS 1911 .45 and it's likely going to be a Brown Executive Elite all blue like my KC. :D

If forced, I'd give up my Baers before my Brown.

And now.......Brown has a Kali approved model. The Kobra Carry in stainless with night sights and ambi has passed the People's Tests and can be sold new in Kali in a few weeks. No deviations allowed until after ownership. Price ordered from Brown: a mere $2495.
