Baikal 45/70

Seems like for the longest time now I've been hearing about the Baikal 45/70 double rifle becoming available. I'm wondering if anybody has actually seen or bought one of these guns or has any info on current availability??????

Far as I know they aren't in country yet. Not even sure if they are in production. Local gunshop has a standing order for three of them if they become available and the price doesn't skyrocket.

EAA has been pushing them for a long time now. I last talked to the people there sometime in June, and was told that (finally) all the import/export licenses had been signed and that the Russians were just greaing up to produce the initial lot of them.

I was told that some from this trial lot might be in by the end of the year. You might want to call EAA directly and ask them how things stand now.

I was all anxious to get one, but a year of advertising and no guns has caused my interest to wane...

Perhaps sometime...
