Buy ya a big rooster, put it in a cage, hang it in a tree about 10 ft off the ground, in an area with plenty of good shooting lanes. Hang it the night before, then be around right at daylight and you will pull yotes, fox, bob cats etc in real quick. That rooster will start crowing early (3-4 am) and that is like a dinner bell to most varmints. Come daylight they are going to be waiting for that rooster to come out of the tree. BTW it is a real good idea to use a cage with wire similar to a live trap, because coons, possum, skunks, minks, and every other thing you can think of will climb the tree to try and get it.
We have hunted over gut piles before, but yotes are smart. They know you are not going to be out in the middle of the night. BUT they have to wait till morning for that chicken dinner to fly out of the tree.
