A buddy has a hammered 12ga sxs baker shotgun he's looking to sell, he's asking $150. I have not seen it yet but he said it's not in to bad of shape, no barrel pitting est. Think he said it's London twist barrels.

Anyone know how these are, I like old sxs hammered guns, I like loading the brass shells with bp.

Do you know how to do a good detailed inspection to check for issues? Do you know someone who does if you don't? If in good condition, shooting low-pressure BP loads should be fine.
Ya I know what to look for, I've had a bunch of older shotguns before. I'm hoping the fit is tight and the barrels are good and not pitted and they ring good. I have all the 11ga wads for loading the brass cases I just need to order some more after I check the chamber of its looks good.

Bakers are good quality guns. That'd be a fun one for a round of Trap.
I think my buddy said they 28" don't know what there chocked at but even cyl bore will be fine. I've been kinda wanting a cyl sxs to mess with some slugs and round ball loads. By the sounds of it it's the cheaper model with us fine. I think I remember baker having some tie in with lc Smith . I'll see if I can get it for $100 figure for that even if there's some big unseen problem it's only $100. s

fun would be used mostly for small game and bird but like to try some trap, like to try that sporting clays to. A few boxes of magtechs will last my a long time.
