I guess the 'ordinary" people are unaware that somewhat proficient shooter can reload a 20-round mag under a second. I usually carry five magazines in matches, so my 100 rounds would be on the target(s) pretty fast.

It does not really matter if the magazines are restricted to 10 rounds.

What next, ban practice, practical shooting competitions?

Generally, it seems that the less people know about firearms, the stronger their emotional opinions.

Even insiders in the manufacturing end of handguns have been awed by the capabilities of top shooters. For instance, Ross Seyfried, John Shaw and a couple of other equal-talent shooters did a demo for Colt Firearms execs, as an appeal for more factory effort for pistols useful in IPSC. The four guys did a show-and-tell shoot at max speed with two reloads. Twenty-two rounds each, in probably less than ten seconds elapsed time.

Next thing you know, Colt is making better grip safeties and "real" usable combat-style sights.

So if folks in the industry are ignorant of what we can do, imagine the doofi you regularly hear from in various legislative bodies--much less the media or the anti-gun crowd.

IOW, I expect to see calls for all manner if foolish law--none of which will accomplish anything beyond Tamara's coment that, "Ignorance is no excuse for a law."

Certainly, the DESIRE of the thugs in the gun control industry knows no limits. After all, they've repeatedly called for bans on "sniper rifles" without actually being able to cite ANY difference between a Savage 112BVSS and a Savage 110FP. I've actually seen them call for a ban of rifles that were "too accurate".

Dishonesty, irrationality and malice are the hallmarks of the gun control industry. Expect nothing else.

Fortunately, as long as we don't SURRENDER, NONE of this is likely going ANYWHERE.

As with the various other "what if they..." threads, there's no law being proposed about this and speculating on such is useless. Especially something so incredibly so impossible to regulate or enforce as restrictions to limit how proficient someone can be at something.

And speculating wildly brings out the Chicken Little and the chest-thumping machismo, both of which threaten the value of our discussions here.
