I agree the seller did a number on the store you bought it from and in turn did a number on you.
I would bring it back to the store and tell them that when you fired the very first FACTORY ROUND in the revolver the barrel fell off. I would do this because if Ruger won't repair the revolver for free someone other than you will have to. If someone really did a JB Weld job on it when it gets to Ruger and they find out they won't repair the revolver for free I'm sure.
Cover all your bases. Bring it back to the shop to CYA.
Sorry your new toy broke like that. I'm glad you weren't hurt...
That stuff is a different color and it would have been impossible to use it without being able to see at least a crack between the parts glued with it. The OP photo taken before shooting shows the area that broke clearly and there ain't no crack.
It's just an adhesive epoxy with a little powdered steel mixed into the resin yet people keep thinking of it as being an acual weld with the strength of a weld. It isn't even close.
So....Enough with the JB Weld conjecture! It didn't happen.
Ouch! Well you could sell the left part to a criminal (no rifling marks left), and sell the right part to a dumb Obama supporter who is looking for a spare quick-change scoped barrel for his revolver.
KRS- OUCH! Lucky for you I'm not responsible for your money. I thought we were supposed to be able to discuss, and even disagree about the topics here without taking cheap shots. Crap like that is what gives the anti-gunners ammo.
