I just ran some q-tips down the barrel of my Winchester 1000 break barrel. See attached pic for results. the 1st one down the barrel was the bottom one, then progressing to the top. After running 4 dry q-tips, they are still coming out dirty. what kind of cleaner SHOULD I use? I've heard its not good to use cleaners that would normally be used on rim or centerfires. Would a little pelgun oil be ok?

You can use anything you want as long as you're very careful not to get any of it on the seals.

Is there a reason you are trying to clean it? Is it new, and you want to get out the factory gunk? Or are you suffering accuracy issues?

i was curious to see how clean the bore was, and was a little surprised to see how much gunk came out. no issues, other than I want to protect the steel from rusting, as I would any other barrel.
