This topic was mentioned in another thread so I thought I would measure the gap on my Spiller & Burr revolver by Pietta.
Useing feeler gauges starting at .006 inserted between barrel end and cylinder face the fit was a little loose and the cylinder turned freely.
At .007, fit seemed just right and again the cylinder turned freely with no discernible drag.
The .008 gauge went in a little tightly and was only able to rotate the cylinder for two chambers before it bound up.
I'm guessing at .007" that's not a bad gap and the cylinder being faced off within .001" +/- that's not too bad.
What do the rest of ya think?
