I just got ahold of a field grade stock and 11-87 reciever from my uncle, solely for the express purpose of participating in skeet/trap.

So, I need a barrel, one that I can screw in chokes I'm thinking of just looking for a factory remington 30" or the like unless someone else has suggestions.

Hiaboo,

28" and 30" are probably the most popular barrel lengths for semi's and pumps.
I prefer 28". A pump or semi is already plenty long enough.
Having screw-in chokes is a benefit as you have stated.

I would look around my local shops to see if any used ones are available.
A local remington dealer may offer the best opportunity for a new barrel.
If that fails find one from a dealer on line.
Get a skeet choke for skeet and a modified choke for beginner trap.

Good luck.

Hiaboo,

Find a 30 inch barrel with Remchokes for your trap game. If you're just starting off, Modified will do fine.

For skeet, I use a 26 inch barrel, also with Remchokes. I find the 30 inch not mobile enough for those fast swinging doubles. The skeet choke, or skeet II will do fine there.

You've got a great gun.
