rather than revive my old thread, i'll start a new one.

i stole the idea for this 'tree' from the OPPS match. It's an interesting exercise in contorting your bipod, forearm and scope, in addition to the usual range of prone/sitting/kneeling/standing heights. this one is a little over 5' tall, which pegs moving towards and away from you as well as up and down.

in the match, we had to shoot 344 and 470 yard targets that were maybe 30* apart horizontally, and we had to shoot both of them from each peg. 10 rounds, so you could pick which 5 pegs you wanted to use.

what barricades have you built? or what are you guys practicing on?

so i was practicing dry fire today and taking some video for diagnostic purposes, in slow motion, when my daughter's dog decided to come help out. it's pretty funny so i thought i'd share. it's only 60 seconds from buzzer to buzzer (par time on the timer) but with the slow mo it takes 8 minutes. in the last few seconds you can hear what the ear piercing dog really sounds like

to watch the trigger and bolt manipulation, you may want to go full screen.

to be honest, i missed the first shot. rushed it, but felt good on the rest, and finished with plenty of time to spare. target is roughly 1.5 MOA dot on the far fence.

the look on my face as i move to the last peg is pretty humorous too. i really screwed that up and was clearly horrified. it's hard to see but the 2nd and last pegs are in a position where the peg above is obscuring and interfering with the scope. i.e. a 7/8" piece of wood going right in front of your objective, so the target is hazy and wood colored and not easy to negotiate.

i need a lot more practice!
