All the fence sitting moderates can see for themselves how registation will result in confiscation.

..and the self-proclaimed "moderate" gun-grabbers like the Brady Bunch will be that much less able to hide behind the curtain of "common-sense gun control." With the help of the media, they've gotten away with that for far too long. Then again, it would be quite interesting to see how the hometown Washington (Com)post would spin it.

I think it's that until proven otherwise. The warlords/tin horn dictators in africa always make sure THEY have guns but the subjects don't.

um..I'm a little confused... I read numorous posts about people complaining about how DC residents can't own handguns. Now there is a propossal that will allow them to legally purchase and own handguns, and people are still complaining.
Anytime someone purchases a new firearm, they have to fill out paperwork and have ID. The only difference between DC and the rest of the States will be that most of us can do it all year long, any year, and DC only gets a 90 day one time deal. I think it's great that the DC residents can now (maybe) legaly own new handguns. The 90 day opportunity is a the best deal they've had in 30 years. It's about time for changes.
