Walking through a gun show a few weeks ago. An old Gil Hebard box caught my eye. Had a 1981 post mark on it. Inside was a Bo-Mar winged rib for a S&W model 10 or 19. (which I don't have) (yet)
So I bought the rib, because, well because I felt sorry for it. (yeah I know, but therapy isn't any cheaper than a big gun collection) (and Therapy has NO resale value)
I'm shooting a Smith model 14 for DR matches and doing quite well. Have a Ruger GP-100 as a potential backup for DR competition.
I've always loved the look of a custom revolver with a winged rib on the top.
I see that CDNN has lots of department turn in model 65 revolvers. Since I'd be having a smith install a custom barrel with the new rib, wondering about the frames that would make a good choice for building up.
How is the model 65 as far as sturdy frame, lock-up, etc. I must confess my ignorance and say I don't even know which frame the 65 is built from. J, K ?
Looking for opinions and experience of other wheel gun owners.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
