I've never been in one of these. Bass Pro stores are supposed to be the biggest outdoor stores in US...? How about reloading equipment? Didn't see any on their website. Are they gonna have an indoor range?

How are their prices? I find that Academy has the best prices on guns. However, I like Sportsman's Warehouse better due to their huge selection of reloading components and equipment. Academy has no reloading stuff.

I'm spending all my money at Midway and/or Sportsman's Warehouse.

I recently visited the Bass Pro shop at Branson Landing in Missouri. While it was a nice store, I didn't see much in the way of reloading stuff. My local Sportsman's Warehouse has everything, but I can't remember seeing anything at Bass Pro. However, differentstores in different locations may stock different items, so don't take my word as Gospel.

I'm with you Bender, I buy ammo at Academy and sometimes Wal-Mart, but get most of my reloading stuff at Sportsman's. Bought guns at both places though. I have been to the Bass Pro that's on the way to Houston (can't recall the name of the town). It was freakin' HUGE! I didn't see reloading stuff, but I bet they have it. You name it, they have it. I can't wait for it to open, I'm holding off buying an XD45 until they open.

The Bass Pro shop here in Orlando has very little in the way of reloading supplies. And it is so crowded on the weekend you have to take a number to even ask about a gun.

The big question is whether they will have an indoor range. No one has posted a definitive answer yet.

Between Academy, Sportsman's and Wallyworld and the Saxet shows, we have the common stuff covered. Also there as some nice gun stores like Dury's. I would like an indoor range when I feel like punching paper out of the heat.

It's funny that Cabela's put up a big sign at the Bass site. They are taking forever to finish it.

The Pro Bass in Michigan has a indoor range. I`ve never used it but a couple of guys I work with do as it is close for them to hit on the way to and from work. The store has some reloading stuff, lots of firearms and gear but prices are not the best I can find on components. I can find pretty much the same things at Gander mt for about the same cost, and Cabelas has a much larger selection of reloading components and gear as does a local shop here in the area. The price in their catalog is the price on the store floor in my experiance.

I got to spend a hour at the Bass Pro shop in Grapevine Texas this weekend. First, it was packed, Labor Day sales were good. I got a number at the gun counter and gave up on looking at the shotgun I wanted to buy after 30 minutes of waiting. They did have an indoor range, one lane for rifle and several pistol lanes. Both had a reservation system, the shooters I spoke to were there to shoot pistol and they told me it was like $11.00 an hour.

They don't call it "Bass Pro" for nothing.

The store in Grapevine, Tx. (Dallas/Fort Worth area) USED to have a fair selection of reloading equipment. One day it was gone. I asked and was told that the store manager didn't think it was worth carrying. If I need reloading supplies, I go to Sportsmans Warehouse or Cabelas which is north of Ft. Worth. Cabelas also has a fair sized reloading department, but I believe Sportsmans Warehouse is better.
Bass Pro is a big fishing store with some hunting supplies, but it's not a shooter's store by any means

I've been to the one at Branson Landing and to the one in Springfield Mo. The Springfield store is GIANT. Its an all-day-affair just to walk around it and the museum on the side of it. Beautifull outdoor store to be sure. The Springfield store did have a nice selection of firearms, and a really big selection of ammo. But not much in in the way of reloading.

Anything that adds to outdoor retail in SA has got to be a plus.. I used to make the 280 mile round trip from Eagle Pass.........Just to get a fix...Essex

San Antonio is pretty lucky I suppose. There are several Academys around, a couple Sportsman's Warehouses, and now a Bass Pro. Also, up I-35 (50 miles I guessing) is a Cabela's (I haven't been there, but I've driven by).

I'm right in between 2 Academys and a SW. 5 miles down the road one way is an academy & a SW, 5 miles down the road the other way is another academy.

I like to go to the SW, Wally's and Academy on 410 and Culebra, SH-151 and get stuff. Then you can go to the Village Inn for pancakes or pie.

I didn't think the Bass Pro on I-10 outside of Houston was worth a special trip - only if I was going that way.

the Bass Pro on I-10 & 1604 won't be much of a trip for you... :)

I hope they have an indoor range, I work near that area, and can have some fun on my lunch hours

Bass Pro is now open in San Antonio. Have any san antonio THR members been there yet? Do they have an indoor range or not?

Bass pro seems to be the cheapest place to buy ammo in Florida. Especially 9mm. I have gotten it for as low as $3.88 a box for remington UMC.

I wish the one in Ontario, Canada was cheap. Odd they don't undercut the gun shops so we can make it a one stop shop for our fishing/hunting needs. I'd rather drive a bit then get ripped off on ammo.

Bass Pro just opened here in san antonio I think around 2 days ago. It has been under construction for quite a while. A friend of mine that I went to lunch with yesterday told me that he heard that it was a pretty fancy place. He said that he heard that it had a 3-story fountain, aquariums, and a shooting range.

I myself will try to stop in Monday or Tuesday while on my lunch hour. I work in the general area, maybe 5 miles away.

When my friend was telling me how fancy he heard it was, I said to him... "how cheap can it be... if they have to pay for all that...?"

We have what I believe is the 2nd largest Bass Pro Shop in the US where I live. THey bought a Mall and converted the entire place into the shop. THey have a huge firearms section with lots of handguns ranging from Taurus to HK. Prices are usually lower than my Local shop.

As far as I know the BassPro Shop in Grapvine charges $8 an hour for range time. Its the only range I go to. They have one isle worth or reloading equipment as far as I know. They have increased their selection of handguns dramatically though (they didn't seem them when I first started going there).
