Said it before and I'll say it again. If you think they are cool, by all means get one. I just can't see paying $400 for something that will make my rifle less accurate.
Bump firing, yes I have done it, is not very accurate at all. Sure you can put a lot of rounds down range in a short amount of time, think suppressive fire, but it is a waste of ammo if you hit nothing. Suppressive fire has it's place, the local range is not it.
And again, please don't think I am trying to talk anyone out of it. Would it be fun? If it were not my ammo, heck yeah! But for my needs it is a no go.
Not really using it with my 7.62x25 AR upper is no more expensive with the surplus ammo than shooting off fireworks when you get down to it.
Using a 9mm upper and reloads would be about the same.
Its a lot of fun, but the novelity wears off quickly we were getting 5-10 round bursts into about a 4' diameter circle at ~80 yards. I think this could improve with practice.
