I finally found a gun that shoots my favorite go-to .44 Special range load poorly.
My GP-100, two Model 629’s, a Model 624 and Blackhawk.44 Spl. all shoot an Eggleston 200 gr RNFP over 7.3 gr Unique very well. These are DA at 10 yds with the GP.
DA at 20 yds with the 624:
My 4.2” Model 69 .44 Mag apparently hates them. DA at 10 yds, about a 4” spread . (My first shot was way high, I adjusted downwards for the rest.) The gun is a decent shooter with loads it likes. The second group below was a 240 gr JHP over 11 gr Unique in a .44 Mag case. Other than my cursed flinch tossing three, all went into one ragged hole.
I guess sooner or later we all find a gun who bobbles when fed our pet loads
Stay safe.
