Hello gentlemen
I'm looking into a BCM EAG
I can't find any listed for sale currently new except for from the main company and I know the price on all AR-15s has dropped dramatically over the last couple of years.
But this one seems a little different.
The prices I see when last available are around $2,000.

What can you guys tell me about what makes this gun stand out that's good or any liabilities of it and what the value should be in the current depressed AR-15 market?

I'm thinking of trading a Tavor sar with old but fully functional EOTech for 1

It is debatable whether they are worth the price they command. They are top notch, and you definitely pay for it.

I would trade a lightly used Tavor, sans optic, for a brand new BCM.

(darn auto correct. You would be doing your friend a Favor to trade a Tavor for an AR...:D)

The BCM EAG is a really good rifle. It's a BCM so you know its built for fighting. The EAG package was a special edition spec'd by Pat Rogers so you are paying more than normal because of that.

Whether that's worth the extra money is up to you.

So my Tavor SAR has a primary arms 3x magnifier and a decent functional EOTech and his BCM eag will come with a trijicon mro with Giselle mount what do y'all think?

I would keep the Tavor and buy a PSA AR with their CHF FN barrels, if you want an AR. With how cheap ARs are right now I don’t think it’s a good deal trading into one with something like the Tavor you have.

I’d agree and say that if you otherwise like what you have, why not buy a decent low price AR and call it a day. A company’s QC can wax and wane over the years but as a newish PSA customer (just over a year) I find their builds are solid as are individual parts. Throwing one together isn’t rocket science for most configurations and if you like the optics you have, transfer them over once you’ve wrung the AR out. Only reason to spend $2k on an AR IMO is for match precision where stock, trigger, and barrel cost considerably more than usual. Reliability isn’t prohibitively expensive these days.

At around $2k new you’re getting into KAC SR-15 money, and I’ve shot BCM’s and the KAC, and I would take the SR-15 for a bit of extra coin everyday. In fact I did, and my SR-15 has pretty much relegated my 3 other AR’s to safe duty.

I estimate my Tavor sar with the optics to be worth 1500.
I have cash offers at 1400 or could take the BCM eag it only has 200 rounds through it along with two 420 round cans of 62 grain essentially military 556 ball ammo green tip.

I think that's a pretty good deal,it's not involve me spending too grand for the rifle.

but I definitely understand that I could also get a decent Ruger AR-15 right now for $499

Final thoughts?
If I to the money I'll have cash to buy a nice Dan Wesson Monson 715 with scope and scope mounts plus the Ruger AR
but I still think the BCM eag with 840 rounds of military green tip is a good deal for the Tavor considering it's really only worth 1500 with the optics

I both envy and pity you for having to make that call, but I think you’re probably realizing you win either way, so I wish you luck on the decision.

Umm. Can you get it cheaper without that ammunition?:D

If you say your Tavor is only worth fifteen and you’d really just rather have a very nice AR, then yes, good deal, with ammunition, I guess.

But then, I don’t have a Tavor and have many ARs and value the Tavor more.:)

As long as you think it is a good trade and are happy with the idea, go ahead! They are reasonably close in value as you describe them. (That is assuming a hardly broken in, scratch-less, as new BCM, with two hundred rounds through it.;))

And further, ARs do bring joy, nicer ones more so.
You will like the BCM, a lot. Good luck with the negotiations.

ETA: And... you have to post pictures of family coming and going. It’s like, an unspoken rule we have here.
Unless you read out loud...:D

Family gone:)
I'll try to be better about posting pics.
At least that above 1 it's a start.
This is getting sold tonight.

And yes I am torn in this decision as I would still like to get that BCM eag to hold onto. It would be great to know what a decent AR-15 actually does.
And I get to keep this other Tavor SAR as well as my x95 so I'm shedding no tears

Is the EAG unfired ? I have the LtWt EAG version and love it... I am not "Tier One" by any means... and the EAG is a typical reliable BCM, but I won't say it commands a 2K price.
And I believe the barrel is chrome lined but not Hammer Forged

No offense intended... but don't get caught up in just the name, and there are ( IMO ) plenty of less expensive , just as good AR's out there.

Sionics currently has my attention.

Thanks guys
As previously mentioned I sold the Tavor in the end for 1450 cash and bought a Ruger ar-556 MPR. I don't have it yet but should have it by Monday ordered it shipping included for 550$.
I've let the eag go and think it was a good call thanks for your advice.

Now I could just use a little advice on what optic to put on my flat rail no sights Ruger MPR.
I'm thinking of a 2 by 7 by 32 redfield revolution.
