i have a sporter barrel howa m1500 and i cant find a replacement bell and carlson stock not made for a heavy barrel, i understand it would matter trying to put a heavy barrel into a sporter size stock, but does it matter putting a sporter barrel into a heavy sized stock?

Sounds like it would be free-floated that way.

Have you contacted B&C?

A smith could probably bed the barrel to fit.

no i havnt. i dont have the stock yet. i am having trouble finding things for the sporter barrel contour M1500 but i want the better accuracy and have heard these stocks are the way to get it.

I had a post with a similar question a few weeks ago... Seems like no problem dropping a standard barrel into a varmint channel if you dont mind the extra space on the side of the barrel. I am going to be getting a bell and carlson light tactical stock for my 24" sporter barrel in the coming weeks. Will keep you posted.

I would call Stocky's before ordering. They know their stuff and ordered me an H.S. Precision custom length stock for my 700 sporter.

well... I dont know if they are as accurate at long range distances as heavier barrels, but sporters definitely have their advantages.
