Belton, TX gun show

Belton Texas is having a gun show this coming weekend. I think they have a few each year and was wondering if anyone here has attended them in the past. If so, are they worth a one hour drive? I'm looking to buy a new handgun or two if the price is right, extra mags, maybe a holster and ammo boxes. Seems some smaller shows just have old guns, overpriced ammo, beef jerky and knives. I certainly hate to make a wasted trip.

I attend this show about every 2 or 3 years. It used to be really good. Its still pretty good. Should have holsters and magazines. May have some good handgun deals, especially first day. Ammo has been available but usually not worth driving for.
That said, every show is different. If you're coming, I'd advise either Friday or early Saturday. I get the impression that any good deals are going to be snatched up quickly.
I may attend, mainly looking at holsters and speed loaders.

I always attend this show if I am here, but then again I live 20 minutes away and usually stop by after the IDPA match in Temple.

In the past the shows at the expo center were pretty good. No screaming good deals, but I am choosey on what I call a "good" deal. Just because I would pay it does not mean it was "good".

They tend to have the usual run of the mill gun show fare. If looking for something unique or unusual you will most likely be disappointed.

I like to go to a show Sunday morning. My theory was always if the dealer did not make what he wanted to cover expenses and the tables, he may be inclined to bargain a little to get a sale. I would say the sales in the past few months killed that theory.

This is normally a pretty good show. Lots of folks come to actually buy, sell and trade.
In the past, I have seen very few mall nijas, gang bangers, and other ne'er do well types at this show. This time-- who knows.

If you go, drop by the RNR gun repair table. Richard and I will be there all weekend.
