This weekend???? !!!!! :what:

I thought the Belton show was in March! I'm so glad you posted this message.

Is this the big bi-annual show in the Expo Center?

Well, if that was addressed to me, then YES. I'll probably go Saturday.

It's a fairly small show. Maybe 20-30 tables, but I liked The Real Gun Shows because they have a large number of used guns as opposed to NIB. You can sometimes find good deals on used guns at it.

I went to "the real gun show" in Belton once several years go.

At the time they were advertising something like 500 tables . . . I didn't count them, but I doubt they had 1/4 that many.

I haven't been back . . . and don't plan to return anytime soon. (From what boofus wrote, it seems to have shrunk further . . . )

i m going to be there but it wont be until sunday have to work saturday. as for it being small it is all belton has and temple doesnt have one for a while i think but it is pretty good last year in november when i went

Come on, I have 12 tables by myself. I'm quite sure there are more than two dealers attending.

Nothing like misinformation and apathy to destroy a show. What if I never returned to a venue because I had a bad show. Well, more of you wouldn't come back, so more dealers wouldn't come back, so more of you wouldn't come back...

well i ahve never been but it takes about the same time to get there as it does for me to go to del rio and that is 299 miles from my front door

If you are operating in this dimension, time does not equal miles. Miles = miles and time = time.

If you have never been, then how do you know it takes the same amount of time? I have been, on several occasions, and it is NOT anywhere near 300 miles.

SEE Houston to Belton on Mapquest http://www.mapquest.com/directions/...2g=&2pl=&2v=&2n=&2pn=&2a=&2c=belton&2s=tx&2z=

Nearly 10 miles less than 200 miles and nowhere near 300.

Tejas, how about correcting the misinformation after you attend this show with a table count, including your best guesstimate as to what % of the tables are non-gun-related stuff like rancid jerky, beanie babies, jewelry, etc.?

I'm just about to walk out the door to drive up to Belton. I'll post some of that info tonight.

Chill guys!

I was stationed in the 'Hood. Ft Hood, that is. Used to spend many weekends at Belton Lake!

This was before the Minutemen (early 80''s).

It's a shame with the price of gas now, what out of town shows that use to cost me $30-$35 in gas, now costs me $50 to $60. Add your admission fee, lunch, etc, and this casual weekend pastime is no longer practical....especially if you're going there with the intent of buying something to save some money.

Few shows within that driving distance are really that special for entertainment purposes, where I'm not willing to wait until they come to my town.

Belton Gun Show Feedback

Well, I go to the Austin gun show 2-3 times a year. I happened to go last weekend and was VERY dissapointed. About half the tables were crap which had nothing to do with guns, and of the remaining ones there were very few tables with guns to look at (as opposed to gun paraphernalia). There were entire aisles with garbage that had nothing to do with guns.

I drove up to the Belton 'Real Gun Show' and found it to be the exact opposite. It is a pretty big show (lousy phone camera pic below) and there were very few non-gun-related tables. i.e. Very few jewelry and just plain junk. There were a lot of guns, both handguns (that's what I go to see) and long guns as well, and lots of gun-related stuff to look at. All the way in the back there was a small cluster of non-gun tables, but you didn't even have to walk past them if you weren't interested.

I almost bought that HK USP Compact .45 I've been thinking about, but it would be my 4th .45 so I can't quite justify it to myself yet :) Besides, I love my G36 and I don't know what I'd do with another really nice carry .45. Sigh.

Cheers,
ChickenHawk

I was right, there were more than 20 or 30 tables. I didn't think me and another two or three dealers would be the only ones there. Shucks there might have been 50 tables:rolleyes: Sorry I can't give much feed back, I was running 12 tables and I was pretty busy all day. I didn't get a chance to leave my tables except for a couple of rest room breaks. Maybe tomorrow, I hope not though.:)
