benelli h&k italian military m3

anybody have any info on this shotgun. it was bought at a pawn shop and i'm curious about it origins and why h&k and benelli are both represented.

You may have a Benelli M121 rather than an M3. It was imported by HK at one time.

H&K does not manufacture civilian legal shotguns.
In order to compete in the shotgun market place, H&K USA imported Italian made shotguns.

Before Benelli was popular in the USA, H&K USA was the sole importer for Benelli shotguns.

H&K imported the Benelli M121, the Benelli M1 Super 90 and the Benelli M3 Super 90.

Almost all H&K imported Benelli shotguns are exempt from Fed 922r parts compliance due to them being imported into the USA prior to Fed 922r going into effect.

When Benelli shotguns became more popular, Beretta Holding Group discontinued the importation contract with H&K and imported Benelli shotguns under Benelli USA.

H&K then imported FABARM shotguns, to compete in the shotgun market place.

Currently, H&K does not manufacture or import or sell any shotguns.
