Benelli Nova Carrier sticking

Gents/Ladies,
Does anyone have suggestions on curing the carrier from sticking up and thus dropping the shell from the magazine on ground ? (12 ga)

Buy an 870?
Seriously, the Novas I have worked on have been a disaster. The plastic receiver seems to either grow or pick up trash badly. It is possible that there is an errant piece of plastic or trash in the receiver that is catching the lifter. Look for wear marks inside the receiver where the lifter operates and carefully sand that area smooth.

Thanks: No problem with 870s!, But still got to repair the Nova. Torn down the trigger assy twice. Suggestion to file down Bolt stop by .020 (lower end) has not seemed to help; no "wear" marks on receiver, etc. So, still addressing...………
