Big 5 has these for $420 in my neck of the woods. For those of you that own these, any positive/negative experiences?

I've heard it said on a couple occasions that Novas are "good hunting and hobby guns but won't stand up to hard use". I'd like to hear any feedback on that.

I have the ghost ring model and mine is very accurate with every brand of slug I've put through it. It's also been a great brush country bird gun.

The definition of "hard use" is a bit open. Often, the guys who bring that up are competition shooters who put tens of thousands of rounds through there guns each year. It's unlikely I'll ever find out if mine will hold up to that kind of use.

the two complaints I have about mine are the 3.5" chamber and the lack of ergonomics. Don't fire 2.75" tungsten allow loads through a Nova or you risk gouging up the forcing cone. The gun also isn't the most comfortable to shoulder, but that's a matter of opinion.

Mine is my most accurate slug gun. Hard to get a 13" LOP on one and the slide action is very looooong for those 3.5".
