Benelli rear sight question

A few years ago I bought a Benelli M1S90 Field model. It came with a very long ribbed barrel with a front bead sight. I use it primarily for IPSC-style competition, and I've been very happy with it.

A while ago I found a good deal on a "tactical" barrel, which has a very high front sight on it. I don't have a corresponding rear sight, and I was wondering if it was possible to mount a rear sight on the back end of the barrel? I don't want to mount a rear sight on my receiver. I open to any suggestions on this. I'd like to be able to use the tactical barrel for home defense.

Thanks!

There is a rifle sighted barrel out there, they have them as an option on the Benelli Nova.

I have the ghost ring (LPA) rear mounted on the reciever, but I know at least the Nova has a rifle sighted rear option. The M1S90 may have the same.

AFAIK, there is no factory option for this. The rifle sight rear is also mounted on the same barrel and is low.

I think there are LPA sights that can mount on a rail. If you mount a rail on it, you might be able to clamp on one of them rears.

It sounds to me like you have the barrel designed for ghost ring sites. The barrel has just the high front sight because the rear is supposed to be mounted on the receiver. I almost purchased one of these before but caught it. I instead found the regular tactical barrel with both rifle type sights on it. HOpe this helps.

Thanks for the info, stgb

I think I found the right barrel. Now I'll see if I can trade or sell the ghost ring barrel I have. Cheers!

When I bought my M1-90 there was a rear sight available , which I have, for things like turkey hunting. It's a very simple plastic sight that fastens on to the rib...I doubt if there's one for the tactical barrel ,though I suppose you could make one.
