Beretta 92/M9 in .45 acp. Would you buy one?

I've always wanted beretta to run a line of their classic 92 look in .45 acp They did it in .40, but only the Cougar style in .45. Even if it required a larger frame like glock 21/20. Just wondering if anyone else on here would like to see that.

I think that by the time you got done sizing everything up to .45, it would be a completely different animal than the 92/96 series. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good pistol, just that it would have to stand on its own merits rather than simply inherit all of the good qualities of the 9mm/.40 versions.

If the .40 holds 11 in the magazine, how many would the .45 version hold? 9, possibly 10 which aren't enough to justify a bigger, bulkier handgun with a longer trigger reach.

Nope. Never liked the ergonomics of the M9 -- wouldn't buy one in any caliber.

The locking block design would be the biggest drawback... and you'd end up with something like a MK23.

If they could have made it the same size, maybe... but I doubt I would buy one. I have quite a few Berettas (four, and I am not selling any of them being I'm happy with them), but the company isn't doing anything I'm interested in (other companies are, and giving better options, in my opinion).

No. Don't like them in 9mm. Don't really like anything in .40. Can't see that a .45 is going to change my opinion. They're pretty, but don't really do it for me.

I think it would be bulkier than the CZ97. As a novelty, or range gun, it would be fine, but I think I'd find myself carrying a smaller, lighter gun for general purposes.

As it is, Beretta 92 already has a fat ass, imagine them with 12 rounds of .45. It would have to be at least 12 rounds to make me try her over other .45s.

What do you have against the Cougar in 45?
The grip, frame and controls are almost identical to the M9.
Just looking at mine, it almost looks like the M9 slide would fit on the Cougar frame, it's that similar.

Nope, 1911 suites me. M9 is bulky for caliber already.

I love, love, love the 92 in 9mm. The width of the slide, to necessitate bulking up the locking block for the higher recoil, would make the gun mucho big. Ad, there will never be a 45 caliber Beretta 92 gun. This has been talked about for over 20 years now.

B. Safety setup moved to frame like pt92
C. Come with night sights
D. Threaded barrel with protector
E. Inox

It always felt to me that 9mm in beretta seems like an heavy body suv with small car engine. However, I like the 96 in 40 idea.

No, I've never cared for the Beretta 92's anyway. One in .45 would have to be a real gee-whiz success story in order to get my interest.

No. The 92/96 series is already quite big, and going to 45 ACP would just make that problem worse.
