theres a pawn shop thats asking $399 for a 99% blued beretta 92fs in my area.....comes with 2 mags and the original box.(dont know if the mags are high-caps or not)..is this a decent price for a used beretta? (i'd rather get something in stainless or a CZ of some sort, but if this is a good deal,i might invest in this thing...the only thing is, is that i dont know much about beretta values)....is this a decent deal???how much should one of these be priced at?

also, does anyone have any tips for dealing w/ pawn shops? will they usually negotiate on gun prices?

any help is appreciated.

thanks.

Welcome to THR

MSRP from Beretta USA is $691. So I would expect a dealer to charge 500-600 new. I just looked at a new 96 in Utah for $509 w/o dickering.

Pawn shops are notorious for overcharging. Conversely, they can also make a great deal if you work on them.

Hi-cap mags are plentiful for the 92.

The standard 92's I've seen go for a shade over $500 from what I've seen.
I actually took my beretta to a pawn shop, to get an estimate on how much I could get for it, it was practically new with only about 100 rounds through it, and no visible wear on the outside. The guy said he would give me at most $250.

I would try to at least haggle the price down to $350 if not $325, having a wad of cash in your hand might help.

Pawnshops will never give you what they are worth.
$400 is fare and the lower you go from there is icing. If it's Italian, add 50 bucks to it. If its USA, but has no plastic parts... add 25 bucks.

Guess I shouldn't have passed up that Italian 92FS Compact in 90% condition at the show this weekend for $350. :(
