Beretta 92FS Serial Number

I was trying to register my 92FS to day And the registration process claimed the serial number was non existent.

It's a "Made in Italy", purchased new about 6 months ago, SN stamped on lower is L47269Z. Beretta registration page says this SN does not exist.

This SN, format wise, is consistent with an Italian Manufacture Beretta. I quick look has not reveled any other SN like stampings on or in the pistol.

Any help or ideas.

This Pistol was purchased fro a long standing local Dealer.

It's entirely possible that they are having a problem with their database. I would not worry about it. I don't even think I would want my pistol "registered" with anyone anywhere.

i have a new 92a1, and the serial number starts with j90. its made in italy.

It was just for a warranty registration.

Are 92 serial numbers using a different system than PX4s? Because my PX4 serial is formatted PY25XXX

That serial number doesn't look new. More like from 1990, 20 years ago. What is the 2 letter date code on the rights side, near the triggerguard?

Kurt, the Date code is "BC" 1993 Manufacture.

I believe Beretta warranty is a max 3 years so I don't believe you'd have any warranty left on a gun manufactured in 1993, but I may be wrong.
