IMG_0181.jpg IMG_0182.jpg I've got one of each, time to decide which one to part with. The 92FS is matte finish, with ACKK, MD markings; and the 92F is Italian mfg, blued finish, with the Berben Corp import markings. Both shoot equally well, equally accurate. Which one should I keep and why? Which one is worth more? Need advice from you experts to help me decide! Thanks.

The 92FS incorporates a design change to prevent the slide failures the military experiences early after the 92s adoption.

It is a moot point though as long as you stay away from hot loads.

I'd keep the Italian If it has a heel mag release .
Plus I prefer blued finish , and the gun was made in Country of origin, although the Beretta was made from company of origin.

I don't prefer the heel magazine release.

Can or does the newer one use different magazines? (I really don't know.)

It depends on what you want from the gun.

As a gun that I was going to carry or use for personal defense, I'd much rather have the 92FS. However, if you're a collector, and the guns are in general pristine condition, the 92S may have more collector value.

To address a couple of points: The Italian gun is a 92F not a 92S, and that Italian gun has a nicer (I think it's nicer looking) blued finish.... the Beretta USA 92FS has a matte blue finish. Neither gun is or will ever be a CCW gun, mostly just fun range guns. One of my daughters actually likes shooting these even more than I do, so eventually it'll likely be hers. Is the Italian 92F somewhat collectible? Is either worth more than the other?

Neither are particularly collectable, and while there are quite a few 92F models out there, there are a whole bunch more 92FS guns in circulation.

I believe in “2 is 1 and 1 is None” particularly when it comes to handguns so I would not part with either one. Yep you are really gut guessing how many 92’s I own.

OK, truth time, BSA1 ...... I actually do have one more 92 that I didn't mention, it's tricked out with a wider than normal adjustable rear sight, and an aftermarket front sight. Bought it used from a guy many years ago, he said someone had "accurized" it; not sure how or if that was actually done, but it is the one I shoot best of all three. Might be only because the aftermarket sights are easier for me to see with my Old Man Eyes.

IIRC the FS has a different grip frame at the top rear—it's dished out a little to help with trigger reach. Not sure if it's all FS models or not, though. I prefer the look of your F model to the FS...even the import markings are pretty well done.
