So I have an older (15 years or so) Beretta 96 in.40 S& W. It's the first and most expensive gun my wife bought me and my only .40 cal. I would really like some type of light/laser combo. But it has no mounting lug or point under the barrel. Crimson Trace has laser grips but no light and $400 is a tad bit steep. Streamlight doesn't have anything. Meprolight has tritium sights but again no light or laser. Tritium sights would work if I had a light to mount somewhere. Ideas? Or is this a hold the gun in one hand and a light in the other type of deal?
Thanks. Richard

Several light mount options for it. Recover makes one, another one out there called an ez rail http://trgear.com/Ez-Rail--Beretta-9296-Models_p_168.html
and you should be able to find old ones made by Insight and Surefire which go onto the trigger guard. The ez is held on by the disassemble button and the Recover is a grip/sandwhich type of set up.
You can also have a smith drill/tap it for a fixed rail but I would not go that way myself.

The laser grips come up sometimes used for closer to $100 if you keep an eye out for them.

Hope that helps some.
