I love Beretta 9mm pistols and wanted something I could shoot in the basement. The Berettas have great reviews and seem to look a lot like the real thing (and, according to reviewers, weigh about the same).

But with a price tag of $200+, I'd like to hear from some of the folks on this board before plunking down the money.

Also, does anyone know where the best place is to buy these pistols?

Beretta air pistol...looks like the real thing.

If it shoots .177 pellets from a rifled barrel then you'll likely love it. If it shoots BB's from a smoothbore barrel then don't waste your money. With BB's and smoothbore you're lucky to get 4 inch groups at 5 yards if the Walther PPK BB gun I have is any indication. With that one I was just barely able to keep all the shots in a 3 inch circle at 9 to 10 feet.

If you must, pyramid air.com is a good website to use for airguns.

FYI, this gun does not use a "magazine" like a real semi autos. it is in fact, exactly like a revolver inside a semi-auto shell.

I like the fact that it looks and feels very much like the Beretta 9mm. I don't like the fact that the gun mixes the black and satin parts, though. Do they really think it makes the gun look better?

I love the Taurus PT-92 I just got and haven't had so much fun with it since I painted the tip of the barrel orange! Actually, I despise the tip color law. If I were a kid, the first thing I'd do is paint the orange tip the right color. It makes no sense to have BBs and smooth barrels.

I just wonder if I can buy a decent pellet pistol that's not $200+. S&W makes a butt-ugly 586/686 revolver that shoots pretty well. I wouldn't own one, though because of the price. The fake cylinder reminds me of my old cap pistols I had when I was a kid.

Except for targets, I can't imagine what a .177 pellet size would be good for.

They are good fun and quite accurate out to about 10 yrds. They use a C02 capsule in the hand grip and its good for around 100 ish rounds, after that it starts to lose power. Mine had a nice trigger pull out of the box, the rear sight is only adjustable for windage.
Good way to lose that trigger snatch, in the comfort of your own back yard.
