I am looking for information on the Beretta BL-2 Stake Out shotgun. I believe it was made for a brief time in the 1970's. It was a short barreled over under made for the police market. It has always interested me but I have only seen them in old magazines, never in person. Any information would be great

I just picked one up at Knob Creek. I had never seen one before. When I noticed it on the table and looked at it, I had to have it. It is new and unfired. The dealer said that 3000 were originally made by Beretta and he had no idea how many made it into the US. The shotgun came with the original invoice dated 1976 (no price). Iam trying to find more info ont he BL-2 Stakeout also.

lago,

I have looked for years but have never found one. If you don't mind me asking how much did you give for it. If you don't want to say I understand.

just happen to have a stake-out

Mine came from a retired border patrol officer. It has the stock 18 inch barrells and has factory rifle sights. I was told that they kept a slug in one chamber and buckshot in the other. There were 6000 made in the late 60s and early 70s. What else would you like to know?

If you can find a copy of Law Enforcement Handgun Digest, Third Edition, 1980, there's a photo of one on page 120. I worked at a gun store over fifteen years ago that had one loaded up and ready to go, should the need ever arise. I remember it looking very plain; oil finished wood and matte bluing. I probably wouldn't have given it any notice at all, save for the fact that it was an over/under. I wonder if the owners ever realized that they were using a collector's item for store protection.

estimated value

I have tried over the past few months to get an estimated value for this gun but no one seems to have every seen or heard of one before. My buddies and I always take mine to fool around after we get finished shooting clays. We try and shoot from the hip which I do not recommend unless you have a good grip. And never ever pull both triggers at the same time. I would hate to think I had been taking so many chances at damaging the gun with it being so rare.

Sorry to bring up a old thread, but I'm looking for a Beretta bl 2 STAKEOUT also.

Anyone have a lead on one? danewto care to part with yours?

Sorry DMR about taking so long. I did not realize anyone had commented on here. I am in the market for an ak, sks, or mini 14. I would consider a trade of some kind. Shoot me an email @ [email protected]
