Beretta Cx4 vs. High Point Carbine

With the price difference aside, which carbine would you choose? Which is more accurate, better trigger, reliable, etc.? Thanks.

I would take the Beretta for its mag capacity. Other than that it's a technological draw. And yes, I have used both fairly often.

Beretta, just for the quality. But if you are on a budget the Hi point will work.

I haven't shot either, but the Beretta seems to be built with considerably higher quality. I'd go with that if you can swing it.

I have shot both side by side. The Beretta has more options, especially in regard to mags. The Hi Point is less than $200. Both are comparably accurate. Both are comparably reliable.

If you want a plinker, get the Hi Point. If you want to pay for a good quality gun that gives you a lot of tactical options and much better range of mag capacity, then get the Beretta.

I own the Beretta. For my needs, as it turns out, I should have gone with the Hi Point.

the beretta is so much better, it is not even close; ambidextrous controls, better mags, bigger mags, cheaper mags, more accurate, better rails, better trigger. Even starting to get some LEO contracts for the c4 in 40. cal.

I have the Hi Point. It's a great carbine and I'm not sure I could justify the expense in getting the Beretta. But the Beretta is a fine product and if you like it, get it.

All I can say is that I love my Storm in 9mm, I have 20 round mags for it and the accuracy is SICK. I can make a huge torn hole in the center of a target at 50 yards using a red dot (Mine is Aimpoint). The ergonomics feel excellent. The only complaint I had was the trigger pull was long, but after I broke it in (200 rounds) it feels much better than when I 1st got it. Also the iron sights suck so if you get one be sure to either get one with the top picatinny rail or buy one for it so you can mount a red dot.

I have the HP, and I get a failure to fire 3 or 4 out of 10 shots per mag. Every mag. I get light hits on the primer, and I've tried several different brands. That, and the trigger... Well, at least it usually goes bang...

It's too bad, too, because it's more accurate than I would have expected. I can usually hit a beverage cans through the bottom at 50 yards with open sights, and that's usually just a limitation of my vision.

If you can afford either I don't know why there is a question, they're really not in the same class. Buy the higher quality weapon, you'll never be sorry you did.

Send it back to Hi Point that is not normal. Honestly one of the perks of the hi point carbines is the no questions asked lifetime warranty. Send it back make them fix it and then you will have a nice little rifle.

And to the OP the CX4 is the better rifle all around (the hi point has a better warranty though) but it costs about 4-5x's more so definitely you pay for it.

The Beretta is better built and executed, from what I have seen (I've fiddled a little with each), but he Hi-Point works fine and is priced better. It just looks ugly.

If I had the cash, I'd get the Beretta. If I was looking for a bargain, I'd get the Hi-Point. Both will work fine.

Have you considered the Kel-Tec Sub2000?

A little more than the Hi-Point, quite a bit less than the Beretta, but with advantages neither of the others offer, such as the ability to fold down to 14inches, and cheap mags (hi-cap in the Glock edition) in the flavor of your choice.

the only reason i sold my storm carbine is to get an hk usc.it was very accurate, at 25 yards all bullets went into a small cluster of under an inch. the bolt is huge,kind of like an uzi,which adds a bit to recoil,but it never jammed,fed all kinds of ammo,& handled & pointed well.& it could be switched to eject the opposite way for left handed shooters. & down the road it would be worth more than the high point,too....

I have a .40 Keltec Sub2k and would reccomend it w/o reservations...but they are SUPER hard to find for less than $400 IF you can even find one. My shooting buddy has the hi-point in .40 w/ the ATI stock. It shoots great and looks like a Beretta Cx4 All for ~$200. If you can find a sub2k GRAB IT! If not get a hi-point!

I thought the 4095 did not fit in the ATI stock? I know ATI says it does not. It is good to know if it does as I like Hi Point Carbines just not the stock and was looking for a 4095 but hopefully holding out for a .45 Hi Point.
