Beretta Model 84 slide stuck

Hey all,
I have a Beretta Model 84 .380 when trying to fieldstrip it the slide assembly stops solid approx 3/8-1/2" forward of battery.

Mag out

hammer cocked

takedown lever down 90 degrees

assembly slides forward and stops instead of sliding off the frame.

Has anybody with a 84 experienced this?

Appreciate any input.
