Purchased a Beretta BU9 in Feb 2014; issues after first 76 rounds, 4 different ammos. Given possible user errors and corrections, I have had stovepipes and FTE's and FTF's. Not really happy with what I had hoped to be a more compact, "Unexpeted-immediate-need-to-fire without-aim" weapon. Unfreliable???

Did you buy new? Might just not be "broken in" yet. Goes without saying to clean and oil real well before trying again.

If that does not work here's a guy who had a similar problem on another forum. Beretta 1st suggested he use 124gr ammo instead of 115gr when that didn't work he had to send it in for service.

I'd at least give it 200 rounds, a change of ammo (it may only like hollowpoints), and a massive cleaning and lube before writing it off completely. I had the same trouble with the little 9mm keltec and decided micro 9mm's weren't for me. It's a cool idea though, packing decent firepower in a very concealable platform. Good luck to you which ever way you go.

I looked at the Nano when it first came out but didn't care for how the grip frame felt, like it was too straight up and down in my hand. I would try running some more rounds through it and if things don't sort themselves out I would contact Beretta customer service.

Saying that you tried 4 different ammos doesn't really provide that much information. If you tried 4 different brands of bargain 115gr round-nose FMJ - you are probably going to get the same result.

I would try running "hotter" 124gr ammo through it - something like Winchester Ranger NATO - RA9124N

Lets face it the gun is not a range toy designed to be shot thousands of times per year.

I would try some SIG-Sauer or Hornady JHPs in that gun as these tend to be best bang for the buck though Speer Gold Dot is most proven and often used as golden standard for comparison in performance. Pierce ammo offers excellent loads with Gold Dots that is between standard load & +P. I have picked up several boxes for $19/20 which was reasonable price for what I got.

I had a Nano for about 9 months last year. Had some problems with failure to feed using 115gr and went to 124gr and that worked well. 500 or so rounds later with no problems.

Buds?....

Buds has a great offer with a NIB Beretta Nano for $398.00 & a Buds Gun Shop $100.00 USD gift card towards a future purchase. :D
That's very tempting.
I'm interested in the Nano but also like the new SIG P290RS 9x19mm .
Both are small & compact.

Polish the chamber and feed ramp. Then only use ammunition 124gr and higher. Beretta quoted that this gun is to be used with 124gr. I have used 124 and 147 gr in mine after polishing the chamber and feed ramp and couldn't get a failure if I tried.
