Had the opportunity to try out my new Neos 4.5" basic model.

I traded a Ruger 22/45 against it. That thing was one of the worst guns I have owned - the thing was a jammomatic from day #1.

The Neos was 100% reliable with 4 different brands of .22LR totalling 400 rounds, and very accurate for a 4.5" barrel. Picked up a bunch of spare mags on line for just $9.99 each.

Finally, I have my perfect desert plinker and they only cost $240. Great little pistol.

I bought one a couple of years ago and have never had a problem with mine, kind of strange looking but it shoots great.

See, I have heard the opposite from others about the Beretta, and that the Ruger is 100%. I have a Buckmark - heard the same thing about that from others, and some love it.

Sometimes, I think it's almost the luck of the draw on whether U get a working gun or a crap gun.

glad to see a positive reveiw on this gun as I have been eyeing one myself since i rented and shot one at the range on Monday. anybody try that carbine kit for it to run it as a rifle?

I had a Hi-Standard, and now my wife has a Neos. They are indeed a very similar design.

My wife (and others, including me) have put over 5000 rounds through her Neos since she bought it early this year. We haven't cleaned it or put oil on it once since the initial clean/lube on the new gun. Not a single malfunction (except a few dud primers), and no signs of wear. We've only used the cheap bulk packs like Federal 550 round Wal-Mart pack, the Remington Golden Bullet bulk pack, and some of the 60 grain SSS from Aguila.

I like it so much, I've been thinking about getting my own, but I want a S&W K-frame .22 revolver first.

Mine was great for about 4,000 rounds. Then the extractor went south. Had it replaced. Still jamming way too often. I'm thinking firing pin. Need to have it looked at.

When it was working 100 per cent it shot well and was easy to take care of (that was my reason for opting for the Neos).

I'm happy with my Neos so far. I have the 6". Its been accurate and reliable enough with good ammo. I haven't seen any evidence of wear on the gun, which is good. I cant speak for the gun with high round count like some other posters. Mine has somewhere around 500 rounds.

extractor on a friends baretta neo. he's still trying to figure out how to replace it.

It's very...inefficient... without an extractor, but still a nice pistol.

I had a 6" Neos and found it to be accurate, not at all ammo fussy, all in all a good gun and great value. My problem had to do with the rather severe grip angle which I never got used to. If the style and grip suits you, it's a good choice.

92, I think he means that although they show it on their website they don't have any ready to sell and won't give a date when it will be released. I have not heard of anyone getting their hands on this kit and to this point it is just a tease.

I bought a 6" Neos on May 6th and still haven't been able to shoot it. When I do I'll give a range report and post some pics. Seems like a really nice little gun and I actually really like the looks. I imagination it will be an attention getter at the range. For me the combination of Beretta quality, comfortable grip, and the $225 price tag were all too good to pass up.

shipwreck, what do you mean it doesnt exist? I saw it on Berrettas website when I was oggling over a Neos and clicking around with the "build your Beretta" feature.

It may be on the website, but it does not exist outside the mind of Beretta. They have been advertising it for years. Don't know if it will ever get released. So, no luck with that, sorry.

There is speculation that there may be an ATF issue - as U could attach the stock and not the barrel and have a short barreled rifle.

that would make sense. too bad too, I really like the way that set up looks and if it did come out it would save me the cost of buying another .22LR rifle since it would let me convert the Neos into one if i felt like doing some rifle plinking instead of pistol plinking with it. I am definitely thinking one of these will be my first handgun. just not sure if i want the 4.5" or the 6"

I'll tell ya a 22 rifle I kinda like - the Browning Buckmark rifle - It's like a pistol carbine. The action looks just like the pistol - but it has a longer barrel and a stock - I think it looks pretty kewl :)

You sure that slide comes complete with a mounted extractor.

I'd hate to pay 84 bucks for a bare slide if my extractor goes south.

That carbine kit seems like an awful lot of money for what it is.

I got my Neos last August. Have put 2-3000 rounds through it since then. It is a lot of fun to shoot. However, last trip to the range it just "quit working." My son was firing it and in the middle of a mag the trigger stopped working. Seems like it didn't return to the forward position after firing. The firing pin was cocked but there was no trigger to release it. Guess I'll have to send it back for repairs.
