Beretta opinion.

I have a 92FS and it is, by far, the best 9mm, semi-auto I have ever owned. The only thing I've done to it is I put wrap-around, rose wood grips on it. It is stupid-accurate at 25 YARDS.

I've owned S&W, Colt, Glock, Browning, Sig. They are all great guns, but the 92FS is my fav!

Mark.

I'm not a big fan of Berettas in general, but I really love my Model 71 .22s.............all 4 of them! Great reliable shooters and lots of little variations.

Both the 92 and the PX4 are terrific guns -- very accurate, perfectly reliable, great fit and finish and overall build quality.

I think the PX4 looks pretty sharp, like most things Italian, and especially for a polymer gun. Polymers generally aren't much to look at, as far as I'm concerned.

Very, very nice, Morgo -- both the guns and the photography. I'd love to add another Steel I to the collection, but they're like hen's teeth these days.

I like the 92 in general. They seem well built and the one I shot was accurate. It is a little large for the capacity, but so what. One can always pick up some extended mags.

I like the PX4 also, but I am a fan of the Cougar pistols. An updated polymer version is interesting to me.

I own neither............... yet.

Oh, by the way Morgo, that third picture of yours showed up in my Facebook news feed. When I saw it I thought "I know that gun!" The fact that a picture showed up on FB and I was able to immediately link the picture to you is a good testament to your unique collection, and your photo skills. Are those Nill Grips? I tip my hat sir.

I sure hope you have a large framed copy of that Steel I hanging in your gun room. I assume you have a gun room given your taste in high dollar guns. Seriously, Beretta could use those for marketing.

The offer for my first born stands on the Steel I. :)

O.K., I will admit these two Italians do function well. If they are going to described in anthropomorphic terms they also deserve to be compared to the voluptuous and intelligent italian beauty Sophia Loren and not a couple of reality TV artificially enhanced no talents. Personally I prefer more svelte designs than the 92 and PX4. I did qualify expert with the M9 despite finding it a less than ideal design. Beauty is after all in the eye of the beholder, or in this case the hand of the holder.:D

Ah, Nom de Forum just hit the nail on the head when he declared the 92 the Sophia Loren of pistols.

I've always had at least one or two 92s or M9s in my collection. With the Mec-Gar 18-round flush-fit mags and the Plus-2 extended mags, the Beretta is not oversized for its capacity. Typically accurate out of the box and as durable as any other steel framed pistol out there.

The 92 is one of the few autoloaders that fits my hands as though custom made for me. Admittedly, I seem to be in a small minority ...

Pondering the statement from one poster that the 92 tends to jam "when not kept clean or oiled." Aside from the fact that I carried an M9 for half my military career and for about three years in a post military job and have never seen one jam (under some pretty extreme conditions, too), that statement could describe about every other semi-auto pistol in existence.

Oops. Just looked. Didn't realize they were 17 round mags from the factory.

I retract my "low cap for the size" comment.

I bought a 92fs back in the 90s. It is a fantastically accurate and reliable gun. I have tens of thousands of rounds through it without a single FTF. I have really small hands so I have never understood the "Grip is too large" statement. As far as capacity goes, they actually have factory mags that go up to 20 rounds and Pro Mag makes them up to 32. For kicks, I bought one and it functions well... Looks pretty ridiculous though:)

Several years back, I bought a Beretta Neos .22 on clearance. Boy was I surprised! It looks like it was designed by a French clothing designer inspired by laser tag but it functions as well as my 92.

Then last year I bought a PX4 Storm subcompact 9mm and was somewhat disappointed. It is as reliable as my other Berettas but I find it difficult to shoot accurately. I have several pistols that are much smaller that don't represent near the challenge that the storm does. Having said that, I like it well enough to keep it and hope to become more proficient with it.

Hard to find a better looking gun than a Beretta 92 INOX. Yes they are big and heavy but they are also very accurate and totally reliable. Got a PX4 Compact. No it doesn't have the loos of steel and wood. But what polymer gun does. Sure is better looking than
Block. And mine has been accurate and reliable. No compliants.

Thanks mate :)

I know what you mean. I've only seen two for sale here in Aus in the past, well, a long time :)

Would be nice to have a second to really use.

By the way, thats quite a nice collection in your sig line there mate :)

Cheers mate, I really appreciate the compliment :)

Most of these pics are a year or so old now and once I get a new macro lens I plan to take some new ones and see if I have improved much, I've been into photography for around 2 years now so we shall see.

I believe they are Nill grips, it has been awhile since I've though about it as they come standard on this version.

lol, I've been wanting to print the Steel I pic for that very purpose :)

Hate guns with controls in the slide! The 92 I had was a fat hog, had a front night sight that was in need of change, but it was part of the slide! Beretta suggested glow paint for the repair:scrutiny:

Beretta makes versions of the 92 with a dovetailed, and more easily replaceable front sight.

I've always liked Berettas... I'll like em even more when they start stamping Gallatin, TN on them.

I entered active duty in '98 being highly suspicious of the Beretta platform, given my love for the .45, and the local experience of a Boulder PD officer being shot to death after her 92 jammed in a hostile confrontation. However, my Army service period completely changed by outlook, and I now consider the M9 a superior weapon, far above plastic fantastics like Glock.
