Does anyone have one of these? How do you like it? 'Any problems? Found one, as-new-in-box, with both mags for $400. How is Beretta customer service?

Thanks in advance.

Forum member Vodoun da Vinci has/had one and commented on how much he liked it on several occasions. If he doesn't find this thread you may want to send him a PM.

I have had one (In 9mm) for a few years and have a love/hate relationship with it.

The good:

1. It is 100% reliable. I have a couple thousand rounds through it with zero issues.
2. It is smaller than you think. I have actually pocket carried it a few times.
3. Even though it is small, the double stack magazine gives it a thicker grip that feels better in my hands than other small semi-autos.

The Bad:

1. I shoot consistently low and left with it. This is a common issue with the PX4 sub-compacts. It really is a practice issue but I struggle to get past it.
2. The safety is extremely tight making it difficult to quickly release. I know this is unpopular here but I like to carry mine with the safety on but don't with this one because of this.
3. I hate the factory sights on mine. There is no elevation adjustment. There are aftermarket sights available but...

Overall, it is a great gun. I think I paid closer to $525 for mine so that sounds like a decent price.

I have owned a PX4sc since their introduction, and have experienced no problems whatsoever. Mine is accurate, easy to shoot, and maintain. I did put Trijicon night sights on mine. The only thing I would change is the thickness of the gun, but the capacity is nice. The full size mags also fit the sc and beretta sells an adaptor to fill the gap between the grip and base plate of the full size mag.

I think most here would consider adjustable sights to be a liability on a defensive pistol.

No experience with the PX4 but I have used Beretta's customer service for another pistol and they were very quick to get the problem resolved.

A PX4 9mm sub was my first firearm in a "real" caliber after years of nothing but .22LR, and briefly my first carry gun. Like others, I found myself shooting low-left with it, so I spent the money on the Beretta adjustable sights, despite not-being suited to concealed carry. In terms of accuracy, the new sights were an improvement, but I found the gun itself to be a little too chunky for IWB carry. Calling it a subcompact seems to me to be a bit misleading. Yes, it's smaller than its compact and full-sized brethren, but still hefty.

Eventually, I decided that if I was going to carry a double-stack 9mm, I might as well choose something with a longer barrel, as it was thickness rather than overall length that I was concerned with for my purposes, and the PX4 wasn't exactly petite. I flirted with a few compact and full-sized competitors, and then decided to slim down quite a bit with a Bersa BP9cc. Now I think I would have been happier with one of the bigger PX4 models than the subcompact, and have considered buying one if the price is right.

Glock calls the 26 a "subcompact" too. Like the PX4 subcompact, it's a large subcompact I guess.

I've got the PX4 full size in 9mm, and it is a great shooting pistol. It's a very soft shooter and very accurate. I love it.
