Does anybody have any experience with the Beretta Stampede 45 Colt? I was thinking of picking one up, but I'd like some expert opinions first.

If you're not getting a Colt or Ruger, I'd stick to Uberti. I've heard horror stories about their customer service amongst the CAS shooters.

Beretta

I have a Beretta Stampede Bisley.Mine is .38/357 with a 4 5/8" barrel.
I am very impressed with it.It has become a favorite to take to the range.

Go to the cowboy action forum (fora?) like sassnet.com and run a search.

Cowboys shoot a lot of rounds and really wring 'em out.

No one in my club shoots Beretta revolvers but I I found one I liked, I'd buy it. Yes, it's a Uberti with a transfer bar added but it's not made of spun glass or anything.

One of the big differences between Uberti & Beretta or Ruger is the transfer bar.

The original Colts, like the Ubertis, have a hammer mounted firing pin.
Load one, skip one, load four.
That leaves the chamber under the firing pin open.

Beretta, Ruger & others use a transfer bar to engage the firing pin.
MUCH less chance of accidental discharge - but also less authentic.

Let's put it this way....CDNN can't give them away!!! I've known some CAS Shooter that bought them and now don't have them anymore!
