Beretta Storm now target of US anti gunners

Exactly.. I try to not use the term "Assault Weapon" if I dont have to.

The term itself is BS. IIRC, it was coined by Josh Sugarman of the VPC.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! ANYTHING BUT THE BERETTA STORM!

Soon, they'll start banning muzzleloaders in cali :uhoh:

oh god

that link got me looking around vpc's website. there's certainly a bunch of trash in there. there's an sks "fact" sheet calling it a high-capacity assault weapon. the thing that really chapped my @$$ though, was this part in the links section:

Pro-Gun Special Interests

American Firearms Industry Magazine and
National Association of Federally Licensed Firearms Dealers

Americans for Gun Safety

Jeff Chan's Archive

Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

Gun Hoo: Gun Pages Central

Gun Owners of America

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership

Keep And Bear Arms

National Rifle Association

National Shooting Sports Foundation

Neal Knox's Firearms Hard Corps

Second Amendment Foundation

Stormfront White Nationalist Resource Page

I may have an AK but it can't be an assault weapon, because I'm not going to assault anybody. Therefore it is a Tactical Defense Weapon.

I prefer "Sport Utility Rifle".

I can use the rifle for sporting purposes (i.e. matches, plinking, etc.) and utility (taking care of pests out on a ranch, etc.). Makes it sound a lot like a Sport Utility Vehicle, which it seem everyone has for whatever reasons. Makes it sound a bit more neutral.

"Sport Utility Rifle"

I like that one, too. But, lets not forget that we need to use them as offensive weapons as well. The RKBA is about more than sport, utility, hunting, and self defense. In a militia, we also need weapons designed for, and proficient at, though not limited to the purpose of engaging any enemy where ever we may find him.

A militia is an army composed of civilians called out in time of emergency. Meeting an enemy force at the border or at our shores bent on our destruction or enslavement is no less an emergency than suppressing an insurrection. It might be just as necessary to meet that enemy upon his own turf. That will take more than those hunting rifles, target pistols, snake guns, and belly guns - though those will help. We need and have the right to offensive weapons as well, for the best defense is more often than not a good offense. Can't have one without the other and expect to prevail - or to simply dissuade any aggressor.

If you want security, buy a gun. If you want longevity, learn how to use it. If you want freedom, carry it. There is nothing worth more than freedom you win for yourself. There is nothing more valuable than the tools of the right that make it possible. B.E.Wood

Bahaha, on that list of 'special interests' they list another gungrabbing group. Americans for Gun Safety is a front group headed by a Brady hack.

As if somehow putting it on a list will get it legitimacy as a pro gun group. Those gungrabbing commies will stoop to any level of deceit to get their agenda.

Since they are making a big hoohah about the Beretta CX4 I might just have to get one now. It wasn't even on my list of firearms to get, but now I think it deserves another look.

Kel-Tec already thought of that, actually.

Oh, I know. It's what first made me think of it. I owned one of their SU-16s, and it fit right in the same "sport/utility" niche that the Mini-14 resides in too. When I moved to AZ, I needed the money, so I sold the SU-16B and ended up buying an AR.

But, lets not forget that we need to use them as offensive weapons as well. The RKBA is about more than sport, utility, hunting, and self defense.

I realize and completely support that fact. You won't find any arguement about the core principles.

However, when addressing a gun-neutral or gun-fearing public, I've found it a bit easier for them to swallow the fact that I (and others) are armed with "sport/utility" firearms than "overthrow an oppressive government" firearms. Makes me look a little less kooky as a first impression.

That, and one can make the comments about "Much like how an SUV is just a big car; it works the same as a car, it's just larger, a bit more comfortable, etc., this AR is an 'SUF' -- it might not be as pretty as a fine shotgun, but it's accurate, lightweight, comfortable to hold, and fun to use." Once folks get involved with shooting, they tend to figure the rest out on their own.

Indeed, I convinced a Brazilian-born resident alien (w/ green card) to get into shooting, and now he's completely and utterly hooked. This guy's more "American" and patriotic than nearly all native-born Americans that I've seen. For some reason, shooting does that to me and the folks I talk to. Midas touch or something. :D

Another skirmish in the culture war

These lying socialist control freaks go after any gun based on the most vacant and impotent claims. I remember when the Smith & Wesson 500 magnum went on the market - they said it had to be banned because it was "capable of penetrating ALL types of body armor that law enforcement has available."

They said it would be the "weapon of choice" for drug dealers and other criminal scum (who must never be put in prison for their crimes, of course) and that police officers would be killed left and right in the streets with the 500 magnum.

We all see how many police officers have been murdered with the 500 magnum so far: NONE.

If they can't get a new "assault" weapon ban passed, they will settle for outlawing one gun at a time - that's exactly what's going on here.

Or making them unaffordeable for The Common Man.

They have no problem with rich politicians' and celebrities' bodyguards being able to drop $10k on an MP5, but a carbine that regular people can afford? Of course not! :fire:

I'm heading over to FBMG to pick up my .45 Storm right now. It is great insight into a rabid anti's mentality when a gun manufacturer is criticized for complying with the law.

It obviously isn't about gun control, it is about gun elimination.

My first thought when I saw the pics of Gill holding a Storm were that this would be new the featured selection in the anti's Evil Gun Of The Week club.

Probably shouldn't tell them about the evil Hi-Point carbine.
All the deadliness and devastation of a Storm for half the price.

They already demonized the hi-point after Columbine.

Better not show them the kel-tec. Their heads would pop off. OMG IT FOLDS!!!!!

If you look closely at the url, the document is contained in a folder whose name I cam only assume is an abreviation of "s**t facts"

Well, it's about time!

Finally, "they" have realized how evil my Beretta Storm is! Sure it's a fun to shoot and has legitimate SD potential BUT must be some form of death-spewing weapon we mere civilians cannot responsibly handle. It seems that a 9mm carbine is quite high powered. Mine's not, but I'd like to have one that is :)

My real concern, however, is that my true assault weapon (see attachment) will receive the same press. Candidly, I don't know what I'll do if this is targeted by "them"...I'll have to rethink my entire self-defense strategy.

Be safe and take care,
DFW1911
