It's so new to the market that you can't buy it yet. IIRC it is supposed to start surfacing late this year. Without getting into the merits of the posts above, I think I'd go slow on putting down that much money on a gun that may well turn out to have issues after it gets into the real world. Let someone else do the beta testing? YMoneyMV.

Good point. They announced jan. 2010

i don't remember if i saw this gun at gunshow or not, looked a like.

I will see if i can find one at the gun show next week.

And yeah, price is about the same as M4. I don't' like the pistol grip.

What is the difference between this shotgun, the FN SLP, and the Mossberg 930 SPX? Other than a tube extension and some light cosmetic differences they all look the same.

Besides different companies, ergonomics, gas systems, materials............

I have no doubts the spx is a nice gun, I do not own a benelli but I can tell you that they are 2 totally different guns. The benelli is all around better weapon. The beretta is prolly in the same class as the benelli, the spx 930 is not.

Beretta is in country.
Should have a sample next week, which usually means they're either in the distribution pipeline or very close.

On the others- perceptions differ. If I were in the market for a semi-auto 12 gauge & the two choices were the Mossberg & the Benelli M4, I'd go with the Mossberg. I've tried both & thought the M4 was too bulky and too complicated.

ugly, overpriced, a hassle to service and no aftermarket configuration options

just like the M4 to a lesser extent

both are a pipe dream

If you have to have a gas gun, wait a while for the Beretta, till the market has revealed its glitches and other problems so they can be worked out on someone elses bucks.
In the meantime there are the FN and other guns that will hold their value for resale, if you really want to be able to recapture your investment buy used, but buy well, FN, Remington 1100/1187 etc..

I was also interested in FNH SPL. (police model)

Where is FNH Shotgun is made in?

If you want a high-end tube gun, I can recommend the Benelli M3 without hesitation. I had one for four years and it was a regular tot he range until my Saigas encroached. Now I am a Saiga guy, but my Winchester Defenders still get some use.

The M3 is as reliable as they come and quite a bit cheaper than the M4.

The FNH SLP rifled slug gun is assembled in the US from US & Portuguese parts, I'd assume the smoothbore versions are too.

And, the Beretta sample is at my dealer's waiting to be picked up tomorrow. They should be turning up elsewhere.

Been working with this Beretta this week.
If I weren't so committed to the 870, I could possibly be induced to consider keeping it.

Nice & light, great sights, reliable action with low brass birdshot on up through 3-inch Mag slugs.
Recoil's not bad at all.

I think it'll sell.

Denis

might be worth of the wait? sound like it.

Low brass Birdshot is like those cheap wal-mart value pack?

Just sent it off to the editor today.

It ran fine with an old PMC light target load & a Federal #8 shot low brass 7/8-oz game load.
Two reduced recoil buck loads that don't work in all autos ran fine in it.

I wouldn't expect it to cycle everything, but it doesn't appear to be especially ammo sensitive.
