Yeah, I'm planning on taking care of this if mine is of the type that needs repair. I'm planning on teaching my kids on this one when they get big enough.

Wouldn't you know it. I certainly recognize the old style as the one I have. I guess I'll be spending a few hours polishing a new striker.

I had one but I sold it to a friend that was looking for something he and his wife could shoot together. After reading that Recall notice on The Shooting Wire, I called him and then emailed him the link. He looked at the pistol and realized he needed to have the repair. He called the number, and UPS picked it up from his house within 24 hours. That was yesterday morning. I'll report back on the turn-around time. At this point, we are both amazed at the quality of customer service.

Thanks for the update. I have yet to start the process. Glad the pickup is quick and easy.

My dates might be mixed up because I hate the unreal world of the computer.

LOL Realtime is a debate. I like that. Not. Yes. Some. Not. Maybe. I meant the times I posted.

The pistol I mentioned was returned this AM. Repaired.

10 DAYS. Less actuallly. Actually. Door to doooor. Door.

Thanks to the Firearm Blog, I shipped my Neos off on Sept. 16. I got a UPS return tracking number on Friday the 24th, with an expected delivery date of tomorrow the 28th.

I can't wait to see that new striker and possible sear assembly. :scrutiny: :)

Sent mine on 9/21. Pickup was a breeze.

Also, keep in mind that if you do a search on your serial number on their site to check for status or to see if you need your repaired, make sure you capitalize the letter in your serial number.

I just got mine back and took it apart to inspect it. The only thing replaced on mine is the firing pin/striker. Everything else is the same and my Neos still had my red gun grease in it.

The downside is the new striker has a longer engagement surface for the sear. This has lengthened my trigger pull distance considerably. :(

The upside is the new striker has a longer engagement surface for the sear. This will probably make the gun less likely to fire unintentionally, which it never did before anyway. :scrutiny:

Neos trigger job

Hey Hexadismal. Got any ideas on a trigger job on the new fireing pin installed in the Neos recall????

mine was picked up on the 27th so we will see how long it takes. never an issue with the pistol before, so hopefully nothing changes.

received it back in the mail yesterday so it took less than 2 weeks. Looks like the only thing changed was the firing pin. Hopefully will get to the range later today and see if it works as it did before sending it in.

I just sent off for the call tag, and now I'm wondering if I really want it done. I really like my trigger now, and I have never had any problems with it.

Understanding that anything that anybody might say is merely conjecture and carries only the weight of opinion...
Am I going to be happy or dissappointed with the gun when it gets back.

I guess that depends if you did some trigger/sear work or your Neos is as issued from Beretta.

I think for most users the new feel of the trigger will be just fine. The trigger pull is just a bit longer to release the firing pin. I'm sure I will get used to mine and be satisfied since my Neos is essentially used as a plinker.

I got the recall notice today in the mail. My pistol is on the list, not sure I'll go through the trouble to get it repaired. Mine has never malfunctioned and even if it did it wouldn't cause any real damage because I follow the 4 rules.

Am I missing something?

Packaged mine up today and I'm just waiting for UPS to pick up. When I get it back I'll let you all know what their current turn around time is.

I wonder how long it will take for some enterprising individual to "accidentally" shoot themselves with a Neos and get a nice big fat check from Beretta for their pains.

Sound crazy?

Remember the lady who shot herself in the shoulder with a .22 to get free health care on her injured shoulder..........

Thanks gunnutery for the post. I checked my NEOS and it needs to be fixed. Waiting for my reply for a UPS pickup.

I took this gun on a trip to visit my kids in Utah. It's the first handgun my daughter-in-law has ever handled. She shot great with it. My son loves it.
