I've owned four 17HMRs. My first was a Ruger 77/17 with sport barrel and walnut stock. Shot good but not great and got worse when it heated up, which is a big problem in a prairie dog town. Sold it. My second is an Anschutz 1517MPR. Wicked accurate, a great p-dog rifle, but too heavy to carry in the field. My 3rd was a Sako FinnFire II with sport barrel and walnut stock. Very accurate, but a bit light, which made it difficult for me; I have tremor that interferes. Got a great offer for it so I sold it, which I now regret. My 4th is another Anschutz 1517 with a custom finish on the stock. Bought it so I wouldn't have to refinish the stock as I did on the first Annie. It is very accurate, but I need to change the scope. Now comes the Bergara B-14, which will have a much better scope. Needless to say, I love the 17HMR round. I have several really nice .22s and am doing the same with the 17HMR.
And yes, the B-14 is scare but available in .22, but Reed's is telling me 3-5 months, which means October unless I can find it elsewhere.
