Those of you who have semi-jokingly called your guns "homeland defense weapons" may find that name justified if a professor of Islamic studies at Berkeley has his way. He is a Palestinian by birth and urged the crowd to bring JIhad to the US. Ready on the right Ready on the left. Make every shot count.

How can you say such things and not be arrested. You can't incite a riot, you shouldn't be able to try to endorse a revolution. If anyone of us said such things on this site, suits would be at his door in the morning.

Oh no, he is at Berkeley a we can't seem to squash free speech. Calling for a violent revolution is not free speech.

That's the beautiful thing about this country. Everybody can have their opinion and scream it out at almost any podium of their choosing. If you want to listen, listen. If you don't want to listen, don't.

Now if the good doctor feels the need to start endangering lives, he'll get some attention from his friendly neighborhood federal agents real quick.

What are we afraid of, that he will actually convince enough people for a jihad?

I don't jokingly refer to my rifles as Homeland defense rifles, i'm serious when i say it. Besides we already have serious security breechs in so many places that we had better wake up

For all I care, this guy can say all he wants. What an idiot.

"It is better if someone thinks you are an idiot than for you to open your mouth and provie", Unkown

"Never interrupt an enemy while he is making a mistake", Napoleon

I will delete the bulk of my comments before they are posted, lest Oleg throw me off the board.

However I will say this to Mr. Bazian. Go ahead, make my day. I think it might be fun to play cowboys and jihadists. :fire:

I think I'm going to set aside a box of 45/70 with bacon grease in the hollowpoints.

Even though this is coming from Berkeley, it should be taken seriously. The kind of lost souls that seem to gravitate to the radical left just might be the next wave of attackers we will have to deal with.

Another thread was discussing the recruiting of europeans to Islam and targeting them for use as jihadists. Homicide bombers named Lars make me real nervous. Sorry I don't have the link, I'm not real good with that kind of stuff. I'm still looking for the grate you shovel the coal into on the back of my computer.

I thought that kind of talk was sedition...

Let's see, it's midnight now, shouldn't our Homeland Security group be picking him up in a couple of hours?

I would hope that they're at least investigating him..

It's Berzerkley, what do you expect?

I , too, am quite serious in calling my weapons Homeland Defense Weapons.

'This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless; without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true; I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before God, I swear this creed;
My rifle and myself are defenders of my country ; We are the masters of our enemy; We are the saviors of my life. So be it; until there is no enemy: But peace! Amen.' [Emphasis mine]

I always thought that summed it up quite nicely. Now show me your war face, son!

Don't make it a religious war. The motivations of our enemies, be they crusading, rapine or anythign else are of little consequences. Our job would be to make them go away, by the way of the worms and vultures, if need be.

Im finding it more and more difficult to retain my impartial opinion regarding this particular "religion of peace". Sure the vast majority of muslims are likely really great regular people. But, i can't help but think that people are at least partially responsible for their own leaders.

If Islamic people are TRULY concerned with peace then maybe they should be doing something about these leaders of theirs who are supporting this sort of thing.

Seems to me that by moving to the US, many Moselms have already voted no confidence in their former compatriots. Islam may or may not be a more psycho religion than Shintoism, Christianity or Goldenwombatism, but I see little reason to play along with some imam's assertion that this is a religious conflict. Framing it as Judeo-Christian crusade against a bad cult plays into their hands and ignores all the atheists, pagans, and other religious folk who are itching for trigger time in defence of America. Just my opinion. If it makes you feel better to wonder about Islam, go right ahead...but I just look at my Moslem friends and think that religion is incidental to a more basic level of nuttiness, including a need to have an external enemy to distract from local government incompetence or evil-doing.

And another thing...

According to a few reports I read, there is a babe in St. Petersburg, Fla who suggested that we assassinate Donald Rumsfeld and she is still walking around. 'Course she did it in an Ad for the Democrats in the St. Petersburg Gabber. Maybe ads for Dems are OK.

Her little killing campaign has gone "unnoticed" by the usual suspects in the media. [just imagine what would happen if any one of us suggested even frowning at Hitlary] That confirms my gathering belief that these media types are wishing for violence.

The way the left is trying to stir up hate and fear related to this election by their constant appeal to the moron faction, I wonder if we'll have rioting in the streets if sKerry loses? Maybe even if he wins since the moron faction will have been "vindicated" in their transplanted hatred for America.

I used to think that the "survivalists" and "Militia folks" were wierd. Not anymore.

The British once exterminated most followers of a cult which was based on murder of other people. I really don't think that Moslems are as evil as Thugees were. If they 1.3 billion Moslems are as nutty as some people think they are, we'd be in much worse shape. It is the same with gun owners: if we were as murderous as the antis think we are, they'd all be bullet-riddled long pork by now.
Given the excesses currently perpetrated by our dear friends the Russians in Chechnya (where their own military admits to atrocities and indiscriminant leveling of towns), or by the South Africans, who do it without as much as the fig leaf of state sanction, I don't think that Moslems hold the monopoly on political or wanton violence. Moreover, I seem to recall that US troops had (Moselm) Pakistanis come to their aid in places like Mogadishu, so we have some of them as allies.

On the subject of riots...

Brad Nelson had an interestin comment: "Boochie (gangbanger) doesn't train. If he did, he wouldn't be boochie." I don't know if that's entirely accurate, but I expect that any urban riot, especially in the South, would be decimated by a single defender with a scoped .22 rifle and subsonics. Lack of through and through penetration would make determination of direction of the shooter difficult, and firing from inside would subdue the report. We know it is so because during the 1968 Detroit riots wannabe snipers with .22s were a huge problem for police and firefighters. So I would't expect any enthusiasm for rioting, looting or arson once the news of feral casualties get out.

I'm surprised

That more incidents have not happened since 9-11-01.

Heck, they don't need guns,a little fertillizer and a car can ruin the day of any neighborhood.
No background check or waiting period for a car.

Watching the lunatic left rail against the country, I'm getting tired of waiting for the Government to enforce the laws of the Land -

United States Code

Section 2383. Rebellion or insurrection

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Section 2384. Seditious conspiracy

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Section 2385. Advocating overthrow of Government

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction. If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction. As used in this section, the terms ''organizes'' and ''organize'', with respect to any society, group, or assembly of persons, include the recruiting of new members, the forming of new units, and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes, and other units of such society, group, or assembly of persons.

Framing it as Judeo-Christian crusade against a bad cult plays into their hands and ignores all the atheists, pagans, and other religious folk who are itching for trigger time in defence of America. Why do you assume that I am "Judeo-Christain"? FYI, i am not. And i even know some very nice muslim people who are quite supportive of this country. But, i dont see people like them announcing to the world that the islamic community should join hands with the world in its fight against terrorism on national telivision. And yet there doesnt seem to be a shortage of public announcements of yet another "jihad" of some sort. Maybe that adds up to nothing. But, it's getting harder to accept that. Especially when people have moved outside their oppressive regimes to the US and continue the same hate mongering as before.

I may be generalizing here, but this has had me thinking for a long time:

From the American Muslims I talk to and read about, it seems they draw a sharp distinction between 9-11/Osama Bin Laden and Israel/Palestine. Sharply denouncing OBL/9-11 but strong in support of the Palestinians bringing war to Israel, or at least not condemning the violence.

Yet most non-Islamic Americans I talk to and read (obviously I know/read more of these folks) draw no distinction between the two: they are one and the same, Islamic Terrorism.

Anyone else found the same? I think it might be a big reason for the disconnect between the communities post 9-11.
