Berkeley professor urges US JIhad

But, i dont see people like them announcing to the world that the islamic community should join hands with the world in its fight against terrorism
Ummmm.

Without saying anything bad about any particular religion of peace consider these contrasts:

The Druse community: I don't know much about them except they are a group of folks who have (as best as I find out) a religion separate from Islam, Christianity and Judaism. They have been involved in the Lebanese-Palastinian wars for years, but somehow seem to have stopped short of trying to kill off everyone in the world who doesn't believe as they do.

How about Sihks and Hindus? Don't see them involving the whole world in their local p**sing contests do we?

Remember the Irish? Everybody knows about the Irish Protastant versus Catholic thing, which is a 400 year old war. So is it something unique they have keep it pretty much contained to the local area?

Jews? They are the other side of the same Israeli-Palastinian conflict. You don't see very many Jewish truck bombers these days for some reason.

How about the Palastinian-Greek Orthodox community?

Atheists? OK Tim McVay. Ya got me on that one.

It must be my deep prejudice, that's it! I just can't find any comparison because I'm a redneck jingoistic American.

Before 9-11 I was car-pooling with a Russian who had been a Communist (he had become a Christian. The Lord moves in mysterious ways). He stated that "a Muslim is a very dangerous person". Although I get along with Muslims at work I admit I don't really trust them as much as non-Muslims.
I recently read that Muslims are either
terrorists
supporters of terorists, or
afraid to open their mouths against terrorism.
It seems to me that this dynamic is present in some of our urban gang-infested settings too -citizens afraid to bear witness against or call the police on gangstas who brazenly carry out broad daylight robberies, assaults, even murders. These citizens are often liberals it seems.
God bless President Bush for standing up to terrorism.
God bless the NRA for standing up for decent citizens' rights to bear arms to be able to better defend against both terrorists and gangstas (and have you noticed how hard the jihadists try to recruit in our prisons?)
God bless America.

I'm all for sending lots of hardball at jihadists, most of it aimed at the head. I still think a tactical nuke aimed at the hometown of a guy claiming to start a JIhad would tend to make it a lless common occurence. If you just look at the Bible as a history book and nothing more, the land is Israel's. I should probably put a flame suit on before suggesting the Bible to be a historically accurate source, but I believe it to be far more than that. Islam, by the way, has to be the most violent religion on the planet. You don't see Christians strapping bombs on and blowing children up.

Oh yeah, that Berkley guy, can't we just have him shot for treason or sedition....or at least hung?

Now we wouldn't want to make the "arab street" of the members of the "religion of submission" angry now would we?

It seems that anyone inciting jihad against this country during a time of conflict when the entire government is trying to stop such would be arrested without delay. As shown above, there are very specific laws against this type of activity.

Were he not a:

a. Palestinian,
b. Arab, or
c. Muslim

he would be under some hot lamps right now.

Just like 9/11, they will continue to use our freedoms against us. I say "they" because he is clearly siding with the enemy and not with the US.

PC bs or tactics?

If the Feds let guys like that run their mouths without getting arrested a few more sympathisers might start coming out from under their rocks. Make em easier to catch later.

The smart jihadists, the ones we really do have to fear won't be caught so easily. There is also a danger in letting stuff like this build up. It might get out of control.

Or it could be that the Feds are just PC wiennies. :cuss:

i would think that if this guy said much more that was truely inciting people to any kind of violence well be all over him. I would imagine a comment like if he really made it publicily (do we have a source yet?) would have homeland and other organizations all over him and they are probaly checking him out, who is sending money to him or who he is sending money too. And if they find out there's something he'll promptly disapeer i'm sure. But they can't parade into berkeley and just grab this guy for being a fool. I hear people chanting pro PLO comments saying things like "the nazis should have finihed the job" things of that nature all the time in berkeley and SF. If this guy is a true threat they'll nail him but until then I'm sure he's being watched very carefully. If we have a source it wouldn't hurt to alert FbI, Homeland, and say he seems dangerous. But hauling him away in cuffs because he makes ignorant inflamatory remarks is not how this country is run. if it was I'd be in jail about my comments about dianne feinstein and rosie o'donnel

Meek, read my whole post. I was pointing out the absence of a stern denounciation of violence from the worlds 'peacful" MUSLIMS.

: incitement of resistance to or insurrection against lawful authority

Why is this POS still walking around, a free man?:cuss: :banghead: :fire: :barf:

Hatem Bazian is his name, a real POS
LOL! For real?? This idiots real name is Hatem. Like in hate' em? (Or like in the old 3 Stooges play on words - Dewy, Cheatum and Howe??)
Bwahaaaaa! That's too funny.

I heard a recording of the incident on the A.M. the other night.
Yes, he was calling for a Palestinian style Jihad here, and the sad part is, all the little LibKiddies in the audience were clapping and cheering.

How to make a ghost town.

"But they can't parade into berkeley and just grab this guy for being a fool."

If they grabbed all the fools in Berkley, the place would be a ghost town.

Two Cents Worth

If this is for real, there should be several tips to the local LEO agencies,
who in turn can network with the feds and get this guy the hell OFF his
"Protected Podium." There doesn't need to be a mass following for a
Jihad to be deadly. On September 11, it only took 19 determined crazies
to cost us 3,000 lives and a trillion dollars all told.

I'll defend the right to free speech...and any other Constitutional right...
but this guy is using his loose definition of the First Amendment to
stir up a few dozen morons like our own "American Taliban". There will
always be one in a thousand who will embrace such drivel and act on it.
One man with a truckful of explosives can wreak horrific destruction.

I say pester the local and federal authorities until they act on this. To
allow this Berserk-ly POS to continue is a slap in the face to the people
who have died...at the World Trade Center and in Afghanistan and in
the Iraqi desert.

Rant mode off...

Cheers!

Why is this POS still walking around, a free man?

[algore] It is a living constitution. "Sedition" is such an archaic idea. I mean, who are we to judge? Who is the enemy? Was it incitement? What is the meaning of "is.?" No, the people just need to relax and let the authorities look into this because this has nothing to do with the "T" word. [/algore]

I have a book somewhere written by Justice William O. Douglas in the 1960s called "Points of Rebellion", in which he basically argues for rebellion in the US out of frustration with the government of the times.

There's a difference between talk and action- who outside Berkely is listening to this horse's patoot anyway?

Who is Listening?

All it takes is a few. Hitler created the Nazi party with talk...and it started with just a roomful of people who embraced his doctrine. Marx...Lenin...
and on a smaller scale, Jim Jones. The Taliban were "students", weren't
they? Jesus Christ's teachings still affect the world nearly 2,000 years after he began talking to fewer people than are at Berkley at any given time.

All it takes is a little charisma...a willing audience...and a few who admire
and respect the man to go and do what he says. Dangerous man.
Yes...the religious leaders of the day said the same about Christ...but
he wasn't telling his followers to go murder the non-believers of His teachings.

Luck!

Academic freedom is one thing. Inciting rebellion is another. Lock him up! :)
