Hey folks, need some help with the rear sight on my Bersa Thunder 380. The gun is only two months old and I need to adjust the rear sight a bit. Here is my problems

1) I think I may be missing a part
2) Not sure how I move the sight (do I need a sight pusher)

1 - there is a hole on the right side of the sight that I believe is supposed to have a screw...but it never did
2 - I can purchase the screw, but still doesn't tell me how to move the sight (needs to go slight right as dead on it shoots slight left)

Help appreciated...;)

Without the spring & screw to push it to the left, the blade should just be freely sliding back & forth in the base.

In surprised it didn't fall clear out.
Or maybe it did?

There is no need to remove the sight base to replace the spring & screw.

The spring is on the left side of the blade. The screw just turns in and pushes the blade to the left. So right now it is pushed as far right as it can go. You will need to move the whole assembly to the right with a pusher or brass punch.

Okay, I will check it..

when you say the spring is on the left side, you mean INSIDE ? Funny thing is, it is dead center now ..or appears to be..I will get more pics

Pictures

Okay, left side

Looking straight on...

So I will see what I can do to move the blade/sights slightly right since it seems she shoots left ...

Either the blade is frozen in place by dried oil and dirt?

Or 'somebody' who lost the screw put Lock-tight or Crazy Glue on the blade too keep it from falling out!

Squirt some bore cleaner, penetrating oil, or something on it and let it set for a while.

Then tap it out to the right with a small brass punch and small hammer.

There is no reason to use a sight pusher on a sight blade.
You wil only bend or break it with a sight pusher!

It's just a slip fit in the slot, unless 'somebody' glued it in with something?

As ohbythebay posted, the spring is still inside the sight base on the left side of the blade.
IF it's still there at all.

well that worked...

Brass punch, small hammer, light tap..moved as I wanted. It is still firmly mounted in there. Do I need the screw to be sure to hold it in place ?

I'll test it at the range Wed. to see if its enough...but will bring the tools with me. Now my glock sights, dead on..same with my S&W MP15 rifle...perfect right out of the box...

Then run, don't walk back to the dealer.

And let them Deal with it!!!

You shouldn't have too if you just bought it new.

PS: YES!
Of course You need the screw!

It's a windage adjustable sight!
That means the spring pushes it FREELY to the right.
And the adjustment screw pushes it FREELY back against the spring to the left.

The blade should move back & forth freely.
You should not have to pound it back and forth with a hammer!
