I see they stock them in both finish at a fairly good price. The two tone and all black. They are sweet looking and nicely made.

Ala Dan, you mean you work at academy? Do they coem with two mags or just one? how much are extra mag?

I got one of these for my aunt some time ago. The gun isn't very expensive, but the factory magazines are like $35! Pretty stiff relative to cost of the gun. Hers only came with the 1 magazine.

However, I had real good luck getting it to run perfectly with ProMags. That's the only Pro Mag product I have EVER had any luck with whatsoever. Broken clock is right twice a day, I guess.

I have a bio tone bersa .380. It only comes with 1 mag and spares cost about $30. My gun is a picky eater and jams on american eagle and WWB. It loves PMC. Good thing I can get PMC for $7 a box of 50rds.
The safty is hard to move but you can fix that yourself if you are handy.
I prefer my Ruger KP95 9mm because it eats anything I feed it and it shoots where I point it.

They are dandy little guns and good shooters as well.

I love the size, price and finish....as well as the adjustable rear sight.

The only thing not to love is the cost of spare magazines.....ouch!?

The mag prices do suck. I can sell the Bersa for under $200.00 and still make a decent profit, but the mags cost over $20.00 dealer price! It's hard to price someone a mag for $25.00 when the gun cost less than $200.00 out the door :(

Bersa Thunder 380 is a good buy.....

I bought my Besra Thunder 380 at Academy on 10/26/2005 for $198.00. It only comes with one magazine so I bought a extra Pro-mag and it works fine.
The Bersa T. 380 is a great little gun but mine required a short break in period of about 250 or so rounds. Had a few FTE's before breakin but it has been perfect since. I carry mine often in a Kangaroo holster.
I don't shoot it at the range any more than it takes to keep somewhat proficient because 380 ammo is expensive and I like playing with my bigger guns more.:)

Interesting. I went to two Academy stores in San Antonio two weeks ago and they only had the black one. One clerk told me they didn't carry the duotone anymore. Based on that, and Academy's price increase, I bought one at the Saxet gun show for $199 last weekend.

Hey txcoyote My Friend-

Man, you got a deal. I sold a "boat load of 'em, when we had 'em priced
at only $199.88. A lot of people have a "hang up" with the sales person
when he/she tells them the Bersa's are over 2 C-notes~!:uhoh: :D

FWIW, we have only been able to get the DT model lately.
And, I haven't seen any of the new [more compact] Bersa's
roll into our shop?

Mine, a duo-tone, was 219.99 at gander mtn. I love the gun, especially considering the price. It's my backup peice and glove-box gun. It does seem to get some failures with american eagle for some reason, everything else I've run through it works just fine. It's interesting that Maverick7340 also mentioned problems with american eagle ammo in his bersa. Is it the ammo or the gun ? I use plenty of am. eagle in .45 and 9mm and have no problems there.

I like mine!

My wife and I have been carrying Bersa Thunder .380's for 7 years now. We used them the last tie we requalified for our CHL. Will probably do so again next year. Never had a FTF or FTE in either pistol. They are our primary carry pistols. My Thunder is always with me on a daily basis in my bief case in the car, and I usually slip it inside one of my Roper boots when eating lunch around the DFW area. Great little pistol!:D

How ironic. I got a Bersa 380 FROM my mom!:D

I like my Bersa .45 Thunder UC so much I want to get one in .40, too. Although Bersa manufactures a .40UC, it appears that Eagle doesn't import that particular critter, just the .40 fullsize? Any of you dealers here, can you get ahold of them?

The Bersa 9 mm is a compact size. Great to have as a CCW but a bit heavy.

Thank you sir! Actually, thank you in two ways, because it was one of *your* posts from a year or so ago, talking about what a good deal they were, that first got me interested in them. Took me a while to follow up on the advice!

Anybody have any experience with the DLX model? I'm set to pick one up later today.
