I've got a few hundred Nosler 168 gr hpbt's that I've been loading and they have performed well. Since I'm getting low on these, I'm thinking of trying something different, I'm looking at matchking's or the Hornady Amax. Which bullet do you guys like best? Should I just stick with the Nosler's?

I have shot Nosler, Hornady and Sierra 168gr Match bullets and I like the Sierra bullets best. When I can't find Sierra I buy Hornady and don't mind too much. Nosler just cost too much here where I live and don't perform any better than the Sierra bullets IMO.

.308 SMKs are great out to trans sonic but seem to drop from the sky at around 1250yds for me. The Noslers and Amax do not appear to have this issue, however (in my experience) were not as accurate at 1000yds. I read something on this somewhere cant remember it may have had something to do with the angle or length of the boat tail.

I had a 308 a couple of years ago that shot the Hornady 168 Amax into 1 hole at 100yds with its favorite powder. Even the 2nd best groups were quite impressive.
