What is a good .22 trainer for DAO pistols? Im looking to get a Kahr K9 sometime in the future (i have held them, and love their looks and the way they fit me).
I have heard that a .22 revolver may be a better training aid for them than a .22 auto.

I mainly want to build some muscle memory/trigger experience with a similar trigger pull to the K9, but cannot afford/cant shoot well enough to justify the purchase of the K9 yet.

Thanks for any advice.

I don't know of a DAO .22LR auto or at least can't think of any off the top of my head,I guess you could get something along the lines of an SP101 revolver but it's really not much like shooting a DAO auto if that's your intent.I reckon you'd be well off getting a decent used Ruger MKII for $175 or so as everyone should have one anyway and learning some good basic sighting and trigger control techniques but 9mm is inexpensive enough and if you're going to CCW it's a good idea to practive with your chosen weapon as much as possible.

I picked up a used 4" Colt Trooper Mk III in 22lr, lookes and weighs like a fullsized duty gun but takes 22lr ammo. Plus I can pop soda cans with it out ot 15yds one handed. It's great for training DAO.

I taught myself how to shoot DAO using a POS 22lr revolver that has a gritty & heavy trigger pull. But you know, after forcing myself to master it, most other triggers have been a lot nicer to operate.
Bottom line (& more to your point), get something you can dedicate real practice time on & you'll be fine! ;)

Other than the PT-22, there is no such animal - but there should be.
