Best .45 for carry?

I'm fond of my XD45 compact service (4" barrel). I carry using a Comptac MTAC on a Beltman belt. It's very doable, but obviously not light. Lighter than a full metal frame, but not an LCP or something. However, it's what I prefer.

I am comfortable with that setup. Conceals fairly well. I could stand to lose the growing spare tire around my waist, though... that would definitely make carrying more comfortable in my case.

Whatever is best for you is "best".
I am 5"9, about 155 and my current favorite is a Kimber Pro Eclipse (steel Commander size).

A year ago my favorite was my Kahr P45. It is lighter and easier to carry but I shoot a 1911 better...

My vote goes to the Kimber Tactical Pro II... because I have one and I really like it. Lightweight, shoots very accurately, reliable after breakin period, 4inch bull barrel for adequate velocity and handling. But I'd still rather carry my Glock 32 or 22 or even the 19 because I know they will not jam ever. With 1911 you get a slight bend on the magazine lip,or a little gunk in the wrong place and who knows. IMHO
