Best 9mm with crappyiest ammo.

Another praise for the CZ phantom. Mine eats everything from Tula to +p+ rangers. I love it. I just wish there were more holster options for it. Till recently it was god awful.

My ruger sr9c eats everything I put through it as well.

Now-a-days I think if you buy any firearm from a reputable company you'll get great performance with just about any ammo.

I own a G17 and a PT92AF So if it does HTF currently I'm good, I just want something that I can call my own that feels better than 92, ( The G17 is the wifes )

Define "crappiest ammo".

If the ammo really is crap as opposed to just cheap ammo that always goes bang with a projectile coming out the front, there's no gun that can make it usable let alone dependable.

While I see you added that you will only consider hammer-fired guns, I have to say that my striker-fired 9mm Glocks as well as my hammer-fired SIGs have digested all types of usable ammunition very reliably. I would expect the same of all the 9mm handguns that have been around long enough to develop a good reputation.

The Walther P99 has an excellent reputation for eating any ammo you can feed it.

However, the owner's manual says explicity not to use +P+ ammo (which I wouldn't use in any gun I liked anyway).

Never had any problem with ammo in my cz 75b But I have heard problems with oal but no problems here yet. Haven't had any problem extracting alum case but I also run an EX powered extractor spring so your experience may vary.

I also put in the X-tra power extractor spring and shot one box of Blazer aluminum successfully. Never shot it again though, and that's been years ago....I reload.

I vote for the Taurus 92/99 series. Less expensive than the Beretta, safety system more to my liking (allows C&L carry) and mine will digest anything and everything I have fed it for the last 20 years, including some old crappy Egyptian mil surp that I bought. Fires brass, aluminum and all brands of steel cased ammo that I have tried. Eats hollowpoints like it was candy. It is a quality, dependable, no nonsense pistol.

Dependable with ANYTHING you feed it, and has to have a hammer... Uh, that would be a Revolver..

Only exception in 9mm I found to that rule wouldn't make the list either.. acquired an MP-40 a long time ago, that we would stuff the culls off the 9mm press at the range,, split cases, push backs, shaved lead and cases, inverted bullets... it fed them all like shucking corn.. was and amazingly dependable gun.. don't think it ever failed to feed anything.. of course the tolerances were so loose..

how about a sccy or skyy or skky three different names means it's gotta be good right!!!! hahahahahaha just kiddin, I'm throwin in my hat for the ruger sr9c concealable and its eatin all the steal cased i've fed it. which is all I shoot in it cause its cheap lol.

357 magnum revolver. You can take deer size game with one (loaded with magnum rounds) and also stock up on and practice with the relativly cheaper 38 special rounds. Obviously this is neither an auto loader or 9mm but would be very versatile in a survial type situation. I own two 9mm's - a Beretta 92FS and Browning HiPower. Both generally considered toward the top of the heap in the reliable 9mm category however though rare, I have experienced stoppages with both. My Ruger GP100 in 357 mag has never once failed to go bang when I've squeezed the trigger. Just a thought...

P.S. Revolvers are generally more complex machines than autoloaders (which might suggest they are more prone to failure) however their advantage is that they are not dependent on the quality of the ammunition to function.

Hi-point c9?

Not a bad idea as i'm sure it wouldn't hurt the gun any but they are picky about ammo most the time.

Ya don't really run it either as I want to get into reloading and have been saving up brass.

CZ75s and XD 9mm tend to have the least headspace.

My 75B and my son's Shadow are fussy about HP/conical nose or FP OALs being too long. My 75B also didn't like extracting aluminum cased Blazer rn.
Wow. My CZ 75 P-07 Duty shoots everything. I haven't tried aluminum or steel ammo yet. However, it has taken every 115, 124, and 147gr bullet I put in it. It didn't matter if it was round nose, flat nose, or hollow point. It went in the magazine and came out the muzzle.
