I wear a BUG [ with VERY few exceptions ] on the ankle and have done so for about 30 years.
I was LEO and I still like the possibility of a NYC reload if any reload is needed.
I have worn
High Standard .22 derringer
North American mini .22 revolver
O/U .45/410 derringer
.38 S&W bodyguard [ mod 38 ]
.38 S&W 442
Glock 27
Kahr PM.40
Ruger LCP
Seecamp .32
Charter Arms custom bulldog [ .44 SP ]
Rohrbaugh 9 MM
As you can see I tried many different guns and the answer for me was, what do I want in hand if my primary is down and my LIFE IS AT STAKE.
I decided that it must be a gun that I might actually carry as a primary, that was my way to view the question.
Most of my BUG's are carried in original Lou Alessi's or now Ritchie Leather rigs.
And btw I do practice at the range with live ammo and in home with EMPTY gun.
